1-on-1, the most powerful thing we can recommend to any managers in the world - To Sit down and talk to their folks on weekly basis regularly like clockwork because just chatting with your folks periodically is not a way to get to know them - It doesn’t work. And the single most important thing you can do to improve your relationship, and therefore your results with your team is to get to know the strengths and weaknesses of everybody who works for you as individuals rather than as a group.

We use our own tool (https://peoplebox.ai) and many of these questions are embedded in it but you can use these questions with any tool you like or currently using.

I couldn’t agree more. Building that “radical candor” is the most important element to have any meaningful conversation or even relationships. I’ve personally found One on ones as a great platform to build such relationships and like coaching active listening and powerful questioning can help. What have you found working in building strong relationships?

Thanks for your kind comment and the feedback. That’s a great idea. When we created the categories, the idea was to bucket these questions based on certain type of information only like collecting feedback or understanding work relationships but I agree these can be more crisp and specific.

These are for managers but can be flipped to find agenda/ questions for direct reports.

He mentioned not to opensource anything that represents core business value. A Text Editor is best set to grow when available free. Examples - VIM, Emacs, LightTable.

That said, there have been hints that it might be paid ("Atom is free till beta") and Github might try to make money through it like Sublime or Textmate.

Though I wouldn't worry much about Opensourcing, I might think twice to pay for a Text Editor - considering that there are really good free alternatives.

IMHO, Zen is not just about fullscreen. It is about how much minimalistic and uncluttered your experience is.

Why aren't you solving real problems for bloggers, getting heard in a sea of me-too's, separating propaganda from truth.

I didn't start this project to solve problems for bloggers, there are plenty of them solving it really well. It is a niche problem that I had.

Can you use Jekyll plugins?

I haven't tested with plugins. But I doubt if it would work. It works great for Vanilla Jekyll with Markdown.

Does it output a static website?

This is independent of your jekyll site generator. What it does is, gives you an editor for your files inside _posts. It understands yaml matter and saves in Jekyll format.

Is it possible to write the posts using mark down instead of the web editor?

The web editor isn't rich text. You edit in Markdown in the web editor. It is an easier way of creating new posts.

Not so much a question but a suggestion, you should have a version of this hosted on AWS/Heroku so people can see it live.
