Because I absolutely love Kotlin and I feel I'm much more productive with it. I have a hard time working with script languages and feel confident on my code nowadays.

Also, Kotlin let you use tons of java libraries.

Great article. I'm very surprised and disappointed by this news. I was hoping it would set an example for the European ecosystem. We actually got accepted into their program but decided to join another incubator instead. The amount of equity they would take upfront was quite big if I remember well.

Start-Up Chile 16 years ago

Sorry if this sounds like a dumb question but : are smartphones ( iPhone/Blackberry/Android...) popular in Chile ? It could be useful to know for entrepreneurs targeting mobile products.

I like to know about the time when their business didn't have any traction yet. What was their business like during the first days/weeks. And if the company became successful, what elements made them gain traction ( who did you meet ? How did you approach the first customers ? Who did the first sale ? how ?)

I already read "How to get rich" ( Hint: It's not by working for your boss, so I think I have my answer ;) I understand it can be beneficial to work for a company, but I'm not sure if working as an engineer and being surrounded by engineers ( as smart as they are ) will help me significantly for my future startup. Thanks for the book recommandation, I'm going to order E-myth revisited right away.

I was looking for at least several javascript frameworks (server side). Plus the author seems to mix client JS framework ( jQuery, mootools ) and server ( JSMVC ).

Please do it. I'm more or less in the same situation of the OP, and your answer gave me a fantastic energy boost.
