Yep - agreed. We're a relatively new team, so there is a lot more to come. Our larger goal is around making a lot of data accessible and actionable for owners everywhere. Stay tuned!

Great call on sharing a more robust write-up. We're going to be watching the market closely over the next 10 days and will share more here.
For our team, one of the more interesting aspects of continued observation will be a more fine-grained understanding of price elasticity around such a major event.
If the link leads you to an ‘area search’, that means the user removed their listing from Airbnb, likely after having booked their place for the Super Bowl. Often, these are people who _only_ listed their place for the Super Bowl, a trend we expect will continue around other big events.
We analyze the market throughout the day, and on each pass, remove these listings from our results page. In the mean time, those ‘area searches’ illustrate the speed at which vacation rentals are booking for the Super Bowl!

Love this.
This makes it easy to send Gifs to friends via text. Essentially, instead of texting emoticons, you can easily send over full Gifs that you find/love. Brilliant, really.
Shared ~ a dozen gifs this morning...
Looks pretty darn cool.
Seems like Facebook can own the peer-to-peer payments. Integration with retailers would be even better. Retailers certainly would LOVE to allow me to pay & share my experience via Facebook...
Slick tool --
Definitely amplifies the ability of anyone to create novel GIFs to share with friends.
Something tells me there is a pretty big audience for this tool. I dig it!
Used this. Love it. Brilliantly conceived.
Yup... typing msitake. 1-3+ years
How the heck did this make the front page of HN?!
Thanks Cherian
Would love to talk further about your experiences.

Thanks! and yep - def a tough problem... ;)
Interesting & strong point.
We're looking to solve that problem as well -- its a darn big challenge!
Agreed - and we think your friends would benefit from those short, honest, insightful comments as well.
Its all about providing an environment where people you care about can easily find your recommendations... so that when you do find a 5 star place, your reviews will be taken seriously.
Interesting point - what if your reviews are shared between your friends? Our findings are that people can be honest in a community where they know their recommendations will mostly help their friends find great places.
Thanks for the thoughts - We'll share more about our solutions as we approach our launch.
Also, Playoff Beards rock; perhaps the word lickable is a bit over the top...
Damn, this is frustrating... geo-location is such an exciting technology - just shocked that one company can own the rights to so much.
Patents that cover ideas this expansive are so illogical.
Good point -
There was another article recently about Apple that addressed this -- "You Can't Innovate Like Apple"
In short -- Apple's focus on perfection/design (they plan on 'throwing out' 90% of their work) is hard to match for a young start-up with limited time/money/(talent).
