if you commit crimes and do not make any effort to be Swedish: you probably shouldn’t be here

your reasonable point will fall on deaf ears here. Doing anything to subvert and replace western countries values, culture, history and future is the goal.

Elon is the richest (and by extension most powerful) person in the world

*publicity known, and overwhelming majority of his wealth is not liquid but tied to companies. Arguably the most powerful publicly known person is the US president.

just don't want to see brown faces in the street?

They could be green for all everyone cares about. The actual relevant distinction with real word implication is criminal statistics and per capita rates. Not to mention everyday real life bad experiences for people living outside of the sheltered silicon valley world.

countries they're from won't take them

That is just wrong. In many places it literally results in a brain drain. Your position literally hurts already poor countries just because you want to see less white faces in the streets.

Nice framing. How about C: not letting in a flood of financial refugees with completly different cultural values in the first place or at least send them back at some point instead of giving them free citizenship and all its benefits as justification for them working here or not being able to work?

Pro remigration is a perfectly fine position to hold especially considering most of the remigration would be with people that shouldn't have been allowed to become migrants in the first place like refugees "fleeing" across multiple safe but less well off neighbouring countries who by definition and law should go back at some point but instead got a free ticket to citizenship and all its financial benefits as a results of twisting the definition of this exact word.

feel like there's some organized attempt to paint Linux distros as dangerous.

imo the only ones doing that are the ones that try to portray the AUR as more than it actually is. A pastebin for package builds with "run at your own risk" all over it. It would be more concerning if there wasn't anything malicious found ever other day.

I think it's just as harmful to adults

Yes however like any drug or bad habit they are substantially more harmful and more difficult to resist the younger you start them.

I'm confident that they don't give a rats ass about actually reducing harm or regulating the dark patterns

I'm sure. I wish we could have these laws without all the verification garbage for everyone. All kids in schools should just be required to hand over there phone like in the past and if it's not in a child mode that prevents social media the parent get fined. This will very quickly make parents actually care to monitor there children's online activities.

End-to-end encryption is about protecting data at rest on the vendor's servers

No its literally in the name. It's about encryption between the end points of data communication. In most cases between two clients with the middle man server exchanging and hosting the encrypted data between them.

Its about protecting live data which in practice also results in at rest data protection because all data is encrypted which only the end points can decrypt. FDE for example only protects at rest data but does nothing to prevent live data extraction.

Resetting Xbox 16 days ago

Industry crash has been long overdue. Turns out making games for "modern audiences" mostly funded by ESG isn't economically viable yet.

There is an obvious difference between few shock videos now and then on a PC at home and constant flood of all kinds of emotional manipulation from ads to propaganda only an arms reach away inside your pocket 24/7 which you also need to use to be part of society.

If you just watch kids using tiktok or even just browse it yourself the difference should be quite obvious. The internet of 2026 is not comparable with the 2000s.

But I would never trust it a second, being proprietary and known for issues

While true if you don't trust the proprietary encryption you shouldn't trust the proprietary OS either. I think bitlocker backdoor or bugs should be the least of your concerns when the OS is literally known for covertly exfiltrating data to the cloud.

pretty cool

Is it? It's the bare minimum and if you replace games with anything else it might not look so "pretty cool" anymore.

My hairdresser forcefully bleached/uncut my hair but pretty cool that i got my money back.

Ford forcefully impounded my car without my consent but pretty cool that i got my money back

Realtor kicked me out of my house but pretty cool that i got my money back
