Can we get a properly working window.onerror? Currently we either get a very generic Script Error (0 information for debugging) or have to wrap every native method in one with a try/catch. This is more for error log collection and aggregation to understand what's breaking in production.

Or, they simply allowed for apps to release on their own schedule, because the OS point version wasn't ready. If they could of announced it all together they would of.

This, however, does nothing to solve update fragmentation. OS updates change the OS, and certain devices simply don't have the memory, or other hardware restrictions, to allow for newer updates. Those did not include app-stuff, the app announcements were just coupled with OS announcement.

Interesting to see articles promoting adding more surveillance cameras for all their flaws (bad angle, resolution trails behind phone cameras, etc). I would focus on acquiring publicly available photo data in real time at dense events and scan them. I.e. crowdsourced surveillance. I'm sure someone is working on that.

Love the whole side discussion about bitcoin from the supposed attacker:

06:07 < ryannn> They say there's no 'central weak point'

06:07 < ryannn> Yeah there is, there's the developers

06:08 < ryannn> There's been bugs in the client that have allowed the blockchain to split previously

06:08 < ryannn> One could just backdoor the bitcoin client binaries, not the source.

06:08 < ryannn> Nobody would figure it out until it's too late

As someone who ran a successful Kickstarter campaign, I think it's amazing. For an inventor / creator it solves two key issues: raising necessary funding to make ideas come to live, and a "go to market" strategy to validate it. Especially for hardware ideas. I've also backed projects due to the pure excitement that someone is out there interested in making something that I want or need and don't have the time to do it myself.

"One of the things that stood out to me in watching the video was how much my mind seems to work like a computer."

A more accurate way of thinking about this is: how much the computer works like our mind. Not surprising considering that people build things based on how we understand everything else. Whether it was done consciously or subconsciously.

Don't be frustrated. The challenge is not in building the app itself but getting very accurate data about the physical world. The density in Japan helps justify the costs required to collect this data.

Medicine and military applications would be great!

Dentist: How dentist grips the tool indicates how it behaves. Eg. control speed of a rotary tool like a drill based on a grip.

Doctor: Patient giving doctor feedback with their hand.

Military: For some guns, one finger on the trigger does a single shot for precision, two fingers does bursts for rapid fire.
