This idea sounds nice, but there's a high maintenance cost to this.

- How will you maintain multiple deployments across multiple regions in the world? Backups, security patches will start to take a toll. - How granular is the right split? Not every country has a cloud provider. Then you need to start thinking about regions and office timings and then it starts to get all blurry.

That shouldn't be the case with 7.0. We recently released a feature called "reliable websockets" that makes a connection reliable across websocket disconnects. If you have any repro steps, please feel free to create an issue and we will take a look.

Search in SQL databases is a tough beast to get it right. And given that we support MySQL and Postgres both, it gets even harder to support quirks of both of them.

In enterprise editions, the only addition is Elasticsearch. But in our open-source version, we do have support for https://github.com/blevesearch/bleve. Although, it's in beta, we have a lot of customers using it.

You only need custom builds if you want to use your custom push notification server. Since push notifications are handled by GCM (Android) / APNS (IOS), for some customers, they fail compliance regulations.

If you just want to self-host mattermost, push notifications should work out of box.

Sprint planning takes 30 minutes for our team too. And exactly like OP, backlog grooming is done during 1-1s with leads.

It's basically Mattermost in Cloud with everything else remaining same. You don't get raw access to the database, but you can get an effective dump of your data any time.

It seems to me like your opinion about Go GC is that it is an extremely buggy and slow piece of software.

Every software has bugs. Whether those bugs are a major blocker for people to use them or not should be taken into account.

The issue that you pointed out are difficult items which need more time and thought to take care of. But they aren't something which should cause any major pain in your day-to-day usage of Go. I would say as of 1.15, GC has improved by leaps and bounds and at this point, all major warts with the system are taken care of.

But then again, I don't know in what context you are using Go. It may be the case that you have been affected by any of these bugs, and unless they get fixed, using Go is a blocker for you.
