The keyboard has a much shorter lifespan than the SSD, and it's incredibly difficult/expensive to replace.
A single bad key or trace and any Apple laptop is basically toast. $800+ to have Apple replace the top cover.

That they can today doesn't mean they can do the same route 10,000 times without a safety-critical intervention. In fact, public tracking indicates Tesla's numbers are MUCH lower than that.
The humans in the vehicle spotted it fine, and we should not tolerate self-driving systems that are only as good as the worst of us.

Your understanding of remote support is entirely wrong. At no point can a remote operator "drive" a Waymo. They confirm or change plans when the car gets stuck -- that's it.
