At least SFOS has been a viable daily driver since 2013, so there's that.

And SFOS can also run natively like on the PinePhone.

I can also chip in, fully agree with Aachen.

(and I've also made apps for things I'm missing on SFOS (Pushover client, Bluesky client), so Hi5!)

That's what I love running Android apps in Sailfish OS. I can just take these screenshots.

Then again, this is also what makes me almost throw my Android phone against the wall when I try to do the same on that phone.

The AI Challenges were so cool and I had hoped there would be more of them.

A "humbling experience" is definitely the right choice of words.

I did some minor work on a PoC for the one after Ants. It was multi-player (or: multi-bot) Asteroids but things fizzled out as most of the people organizing moved on to other things.

Well, the blog post is 14 years old.

It's an interesting showcase in how we (or at least I) assumed what the lifecycle of hyperlinks would be. (My assumption was they would perhaps 404 at some point, but not this.)

There's some minor issues with the blog post though that don't make it entirely correct Genetic Programming as written by Koza's. I'd have to dive into it again but I think it was either with the way mutations are done or how fitness is evaluated.

Anyway, it should be close enough.

I would even go so far (as I recently said on Mastodon) that nowadays using Aurora over the Google Play Store is safer since it doesn't display ads for other apps just above the search results for the app one is looking for. If one isn't paying attention or running on autopilot (it happens) one might click on the ad and install some malware.

Not only does the superior ESDF have tactile feedback (because of the nub on the F key) but you also get an extra column of keys (QAZ) on the left!

I'm going to react to the OP through your post.

The interview Dawkins had with the Indian metaphysician (I forgot the name) made me realize how blinded Dawkins is by his material-reductionist belief system. Dawkins appeared to have no idea what the man was talking about because his belief system could not compute the meaning of what the man was trying to explain to him.

I did not see that at all on the above fragment, maybe at the end a little. It was mostly two men having an interesting conversation albeit at different metaphysical levels and, especially Dawkins, trying to find a common ground.

The video is called "Satish Kumar schools Richard Dawkins" which is ridiculous and leading.

I hold no love for Apple but the phone I used the longest was my iPhone 3GS. I think 5 years or so but only because it was jailbroken. (Thanks saurik!) Otherwise it would have been half as useful (or secure since I got fixes to exploits faster than Apple made then).

The initial SailfishOS phone from Jolla was supported for 7+ years and was also a really nice experience.
