I've known Ken for many years, and I can say without doubt Churnbuster's exactly what he's great at. I've also followed what Matt/Joelle have done for awhile and think quite highly of the whole team. I'm sure they'll do some great stuff with this product—i'll definitely be referring it to many people in the future!

Always loved Steve Blanks stuff but he can be a little tough to digest, love that this guide's less university course and is simple, to the point and easy to follow for simpletons like myself :)
If there's something I think is valuable and useful I have no issue paying with a tweet—and if you've got a SaaS business this one's more than worth a tweet (even if you think you know your shit it's a great resource to review), and I think the people that read my stream might find it interesting too
Sorry, happy to lie if it helps :)
wow, some definite similarities, but no hadn't seen that site until just now. It's actually based on another site design I'd done a few years ago: http://yourboxseat.com/
The biggest difference is there's no extension to install (not a big deal to most). Also, we're focused on non-designers being able to get their thoughts/likes across easy to designers.
That said, as a designer myself the Scratchpad process is largely based on an existing process I've employed for a while to get things going to show other's in a simple manner what i'm thinking and get early buy in to be able to move forward faster and on my own terms.
It says "Signup and Learn More" now, took a few minutes for the update to propagate
Sorry, as was noted below the CTA was a little misleading, I've updated it since—nothing sinister was meant by it, just trying to gain insight into what people want as we put the finishing touches on the app, you should get an email in the next couple of days to start using it
It's similar yes (and partly what it's based on, i've been doing just that for years), but not everyone has photoshop (or wants to go through the effort of screenshot-ing and organizing their clippings on their hard drive
Ha, I wish I could say I was that fast, although the whole thing's still very much in it's infancy sadly my turnaround time isn't quite that quick!
Odd, send me an email at andrew[at]scratchpad.co and I'd be happy to give you access when we have the tool live in the next day or two
As the designer/developer behind this I promise you plenty is being build, we'll be ready to start inviting people to use it in the next couple of days.
Sorry to have annoyed you, but there's really no better way to gauge interest/insight into what your doing early than this type of approach, it really does work out for the better in the long run.
Sorry, guess some of the release text made it into the beta signup, we'll have a working app ready in the next day or so, if you signup i'll make sure you get first access—promise!
The title says it all—the team's amazing and can clearly execute! Looks and feels great, big ups
Sadly not yet, but you can bet we'll be expanding this fast and furiously, so may be soon :)
Thanks—that's a great idea and one that should be fairly simple for us to implement quickly
We don't ever actually touch any of your calendar events except to display them in the extension. The 'spam' bit only occurs if you create a new event and invite people - really sorry about that, you can turn that off in the settings, we'll very likely turn that off by default in the next release.
Feel free to email us any feedback, our goal's to make this as awesome as possible, not to screw with your calendar!
We do provide additional information not in your calendar, but I totally see your point, and we're working on this — in fact addressing this challenge is a key part of what we'll be tackling in our next updates to the extension.
LOL, oddly that never even made the list of possible names, but I like it! :)
Awesome—let us know what else you'd like to see, would love your feedback!
Not entirely, we do a bit of natural language checking for partial addresses in the location field of your meetings and make some assumptions, but the better the location the easier for us to geo-code :)
We're planning on releasing a Chrome extension this week that'll have exactly that—stay tuned!
As a Chargify customer from very early on & having been in a paying position since early March (we launched in mid-January & it took a month & a half to hit a paying level) would we have used Chargify from the get-go if we had to pay for it? I can't say for certain but it's quite likely as it still would've been cheaper than moving development cycles into building a billing system (as it is we're still backlogged in that dept).
If I was running a business that relied on a lot of freemium customers I might think twice, but then unless you're asking for credit cards up-front just don't put them into Chargify until they upgrade and give you their CC details. We handle gift subscriptions this way, unless they convert to a 'real' subscription when their gift is up they never go through Chargify.
For what it's worth, it's safe to say after using Chargify for almost a year and having an active site using it for 9-10 months, the level of service and support we've received has been more than worth what we're paying — our development backlog is already a pain-point, I can't imagine what it'd be like if we were rolling our own billing system.
