Doesn't it get expensive fast? I found the one-off prompts I did in their website to cost almost a $1/prompt.

is Plaid inherently bad? Is having an automated way of pulling in real time data worth the security risk of authing into all your bank accounts? Genuinely asking as this seems great in theory, but I'm a bit confused what it looks like to manually keep it updated.

Yeah, I switched away from Google for this reason. Pretty wild to think of the implications of losing your phone and having no backup. Even switching phones required resettings all your codes. Authy is a mess, but at least had this functionality when they were still actively worked on.

Unless something has changed, they explicitly disallow any website that facilitates for profit commerce. Granted I don't think they closely monitor it unless your bandwidth is over a certain threshold. However, Cloudflare Pages is free and unlimited FWIW but I doesn't seem as nice or fast as Vercel.

I was surprised this was only 6 episodes. Felt like it could have been an on-going series.

Would be really appreciated if they would enable their free plan to be used for "commercial" sites. Their definition of a commercial-purpose site is so expansive it precludes just about every site I need to stand up. I know they deserve to make money, but Cloudflare, Netlifly, Heroku, etc. all offer this, so makes it hard to justify not just using one of them.

Kottke was very formative to my first big "deep dive" into the web and truly being blown away by the community / what would you could create. He was one of the original patreons.

Side note: what happened to his social bookmarking site he was working on?

Yeah, more just surprised that Soybean specifically so ubiquitous. Felt like last time I looked it was a range of weird oil name (corn oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, etc.) Just astonishing how the huge CPG conglomerates have engineered such highly processed food all in the name of price efficiency. I love brands like Primal Kitchen and how many others like it gain popularity as they're one of the few brands whose ingredients are just normal and easily identifiable.

I've been using Cloudflare Pages almost exclusively. It's nice not having to worry about bandwidth limits. That being said, I would probably use Vercel a lot more if they weren't so strict about their hobby plan not being used for "commercial purposes" at all. While I understand they want to make money, seems silly not to offer some sorta leeway when you have so many other options that do.

Anyone else surprised they don't change their name to Duck.com? (which they own and just use as a forwarder.)

I'm confused by this too. Sounds like he's only believed to be the owner of the original 1 million BTC. I think until he actually moves 1 coin, most people remain very skeptical. Can someone correct me? I guess that would bring into question what he was being sued for if there wasn't definitive proof.
