we are talking here about the same measures and standards, taken to make sure there are no counterfeit paper currency in the market.
the basic idea, is not around cryptography, the idea is to have, a truly digital currency, regardless of how it is 'created'. I just want to eliminate Card companies, and they were not made for Internet either. they are cool for offline shopping as you don't have to carry cash.

has some coined the term for this trend yet?. where a site is hacked, and it's followed by a trend, to create websites to check if you are one of the sheep got slayed in a hacking attack.

this is the major reason, i have stopped using new and shinny services poping up every other day.
I have shifted to using open source products and installing them on my own servers wherever possible.
And this is what big guys want to as well, they want to discourage users to put trust with small guys. perhaps I am wrong, but it's kindda apparent.

I will only emphasize that never think you are working from home. Always assume you are working as if from another building than your own home. And always act as if you are in that building.
The moment you realize, you are in your own home, it would get harder for you to stick to the 'normal business routine'.
