The author forgot to mention that Amazon kindle publishing take 70% out of your sale price :) Also, that when they print the books, the quality sucks - thick cheap printer paper, toner saver enabled. As a customer I have had very bad experience with books printed by Amazon.

The End of AMP 5 years ago

I have always detested AMP. But there was no other way around - if you wanted to appear in google results on top you had to use it.

Completely misleading title and this is basically an ad:

(* Links to Vultr contain my referral code, which means that if you choose to subscribe to Vultr after you clicked on that link, it will earn me a small commission.)

host yourself means - running on your own hardware

I haven't read the whole article, but making games on your own is really hard. You are either good designer, but bad programmer or the other way around so. I think the easiest if you are a programmer and know a little bit of Unreal or Unity, you should use free assets and not bother with creating assets as this will eat up all your time. It's better if you pair with someone.

Yes, they wanted cars before the cars got invented. The wanted greater speed, more comfort, less trouble. People didn't care whether it took the shape of a "car" or of a "sdflkjsdkj". As long as the invention satisfied their needs, people were willing to pay for it. This stands true always.

Anyway, besides all the BS the author wrote, I didn't see the business model. What was the basic - dumb business model?

So you find which is the best painkiller. So what? How do you charge users for this? This is one-time info. Once we all agree which is the best, why would anyone pay you for this?

And why the fuck did you draw diagrams on your parents' windows? Have you watched the facebook movie too many times?

These sentences summarise it all:

"Google will effectively control how websites can monetise and operate their business,"

"This means that any business that buys or sells advertising will be reliant on Google for a part of the process, whether they like it or not."
