I agree, but something being distraction does not automatically mean it’s addictive. Gear shifting is a distraction, but we don’t consider it addictive.

The main idea here is that overuse not equals addiction.
There are a lot of reasons for distraction while driving, but we don’t call all of them addiction on that premise. If a driver was not looking at his phone - maybe he’d be looking at something else. The phone is not the reason - it’s just a very suitable object.
Because it is proven that phone usage is not an addiction like drugs or alcohol. People put phones away easily if they have a reason to do so.
What are we trying to achieve by removing the lockfiles?

Huh, before computers I can remember 77 open notebooks scattered across my bedroom. Nothing changes.
Putin tried to do that at the beginning of his presidency. He was talking a lot about joining NATO and even EU, but that didn’t go anywhere. Russia is much more valuable to the EU as a fossil colony.
ЦГК ФТС is a Central Clinical Hospital of the Federal Customs Service it has nothing to do with the Federal Tax Service.

I wonder why wasn’t this patch given time before merging it? Isn’t that the whole purpose of patches and merge process?
Bafang is even more popular than Bosch in the Netherlands. Many popular brands like VanMoof and Veloretti prefer them due to lower prices, more power and better repairability.
It's 2000-3000 eur worth. You can sell it for less or take out the proprietary details like battery or automatic gear shifter and sell it. Or you can steal it just for fun, because they are usually left unchained and unlocked all over the city. Easy target.
100% stolen. Two were stolen from my neighbours in Amsterdam this month, one of them just yesterday.
I own Union E-Fast https://www.union.nl/e-fast
You can check Bosch Chinese competitor Bafang - they copy Bosch solutions and also very popular among bicycle makers. https://bafang-e.com/en/home/
I’ve heard that the biggest complaint is the automatic gear shifter which broke quite frequently.
Any bike that uses Bosch battery/motor kits. Those batteries are available on the market separately.
Many people didn’t lock their vanmoofs because of that. It made no sense to steal, but now when thieves know that vanmoof went bankrupt - they are stolen in enormous amounts.
Reddit asked ~2M$ per month. In his rant Apollo creator told that he‘ll be ok paying half of that. Can you imagine how much is he making on free Reddit APIs?
Many people across the USSR made it at home. Recipes sharing was very popular.
Amsterdam is comparable population wise.
Current AI predictions are mostly based on the Matrix and Terminator.
Cell phone will melt my brain and computer games will turn me into serial killer. Been there, seen that.
The elections has ended. Now back to usual business.
Because those unhappy people are not really so smart.
But hey, they were not named :) And that lines up with my experience in agencies - there is always an “Isaac” who’s job is to cool the customer down.
A lot of companies has shut their business in Russia, chains of supply are broken, commodities prices went up. The sanctions are hurting people in Russia but not the Russian government which runs the war.
The issue is that when you are trying to understand/modify someone else code it always comes down to confusing implementation details rather than abstract architecture on top of them.
I agree that setting up Emacs from scratch could be a long journey, but there are prebuilt emacs configs like Spacemacs which are even more capable than VSCode out of the box.
Looks like it could be replaced with Amazon Echo or any similar voice-enabled speaker which is 1/5 of cost.
