being colorblind, specifically deuteranomaly, it worked, but i do not see the blue green, i see the weird off green i normally do and then basically brown. i would imagine complete red-green would actually impact it

So, I'm just gonna go out on a limb here and say this all feels very unnatural and forced, when like, Kiwifarms is bad.
I literally just spent some time this weekend trying to get it working with a dnsresolver locally routing my home network there and then out to nextdns, all through tailscale. The issue really came down to something I didn't bother diagnosing, and very well could've been my router.
But. This just solved all those issues. Threw my nextdns address into tailscale and away i go. I swear every single time I run into some modern inconvenience of the web Tailscale (by mission statement) is there to solve it.
What is it tonight with the low effort posts trying to drive those who use telegram and reddit to right wing / hateful alternatives? I'll make a guess and that it's related to roe v wade and the political climate, especially with those insanely pro life, and by statistical chance, republican, aren't being welcomed on left leaning sites. So those people think this "rejection" is happening to everyone, when that is a flat out falsehood.
Its the "reality has a left leaning bias" and its being met with the same attempts to indoctrinate people towards hate. The only group of people who would feel quote 'persecuted' unquote are those who hold hateful and bigoted views.
I don't think theres anything majorly wrong with redditlikes/twitterlikes/federated mastadon sites. But the moment I see a random site telling me to use alternatives that only promote hateful views, I don't see it as valid. Regardless of the data used, sites like Gab shouldn't be given a spotlight since they refuse to even federate with other Mastadon servers.
I don't even want to get into how Gab is clearly a cesspool [1], the next two sites listed are 4chan twitter analogues, and the overite page is the terfs who were banned from reddit.
In this day and age, a reddit clone isn't the same as a digg clone. A reddit clone is mostly a "refuge" (rdrama being a great example counter to my terf/bigot point) for those who are banned from reddit. In reddits history, the only subreddits who get outright banned are those like /r/cringetopia /r/fatpeoplehate /r/thedonald
Communities that promote hate. And seeing such a clearly bad list on hacker news, I had to speak up.

Telegram isn't foolproof, nor is it a secure app "BY DEFAULT". And that is a big point overall. Telegram has been known to not share information with the (local national spy agency) unless you're actively promoting violence. Its default chats are not encrypted, while its secret chats are. you can't access private chats on other devices, yet, whatsapp's default encryption shares its keys across devices.
I'd still argue its a misleading title, its a list of Active Social Media Alternatives, regardless of what the mod named the list.
I think the title should be changed to reflect that.

me as well, plus it doesn't list things like discord servers, but will list mastodon communities? just feels purposeful to mislead people looking for an alternative to reddit and dump them into purposeful recreations made by those who enjoy taking younger white cis men and women, and turning them into hate filled monsters.
So this article uses screenshots from weather.com, barely talks about the actual apple weather app, which just changed its data set from Weather.com, to the acquired Dark Sky.
Seems really odd, and like a possible PR fluff piece paid by IBM and Weather.com to try and convince people that the built-in weather app for iOS 15 will be somehow bad. When in fact it will have the same features as Weather.com+ for free.
Just feels wrong, and I can't entirely explain why.
Edit: Leaving the rest of this for posterity, on a second read through it seems that Apple is using weather.com as the weather app on iPados 15, which is just a confusing decision on their part.
As someone who does uber eats for some side cash (I have a very small and fuel effecient car, so it actually works out gas wise for me), the 11 dollars was the total service charge. Uber then breaks it down by what they take (the first party part, not included), and any other fees are in a seperate Third party section. So from my perspective of 11 dollars total, with 6 for the third party (which they absolutely pass onto the driver), the missing 5 could be made up by the Uber first party charges.
Now I can't confirm this, I'm not on his account, and he hasn't posted it yet. But I would put a nickel on the other 5 bucks being paid directly to Uber. Which again, not uncommon.

In the games I've had it supported in, and I'm running a 3080 and an Ryzen 3700x, it really does a fantastic job. Cyberpunk looks and runs great on ultra raytracing, and Amid Evil looks fantastic with its new DLSS and RTX patch.
There are a lot of games coming out, but I really don't think Flight VR games are it's major selling point right now. Just as Fight Sims haven't been the top sellers for anything expect their own equipment. If you want it added for Microsoft Fight Simulator, check the forums and I'm sure theres post you could boost with your opinion.
But I really never see X-Plane integrating DLSS into their product. They have to focus on realism in all aspects, and are more focused on appeasing the FAA for their flight sim accreditation then benefiting users.
This dislike of X-Plane started after the Spyware incident, even if they have doubled back, I really doubt X-Plane will be advancing anything this generation.

Its just not true.
Its a new technology out for less than a year at this point. It takes more than 2 months to incorporate a completely new graphics stack unless you're already using an engine like Unreal 4. The comment just feels bloated with pretentiousness, and isn't fitting of this forum. I don't use DLSS because I don't really see the benefit without heavy raytracing, and I can't imagine what it for do for me in a game where I am flying 40k feet off the ground.
You can back up all Telegram chats including Media, of course this doesn't replace email, but the difference is just a client to parse the data and log it in a message style front end.
Overall, email is killer, I would love to move everything toward emails that I can filter, or as the OP posted, a Unified inbox.

Had Frontier after ATT Uverse sold their lines to Frontier (Southern Connecticut). The service quickly went downhill and a year later I got out of my contract. They had abysmal customer service and outdated equipment that seemed to be required to use the former ATT lines. The biggest issue came down to service quality and speed. As well as lengthy outages that only increased throughout the year.
Not at all true, many of the new rap scene has some very cohesive albums. Brockhampton saturation 1-3 have very clear beginning and ends, JPEGMAFIA's new album is a clean 42 minute experience. The album is not dead. Its just the audience listening to it
Edit: This expands past these two bands, I'm giving two small examples in a large field that I listen to. I think artists are leaning toward either singles that get tons of airplay or albums that get listen time drawn out because the album is cohesive. Its two different styles of listening,and both are being catered. You can have a one off single that one group of people love, and another group that can't listen to that single outside of the album. Streaming services have done a good job at allowing this to happen.

Back in may the site's service degraded which has led to a near permanent "we are having intermittent issues" bar at the top of their page. I use it bi-weekly but felt the site really start to fall apart.

The mention of "It only takes a busy month outside of 'the grid' to become inactive" isn't entirely true. The setup allows you to decide not only the length of time from 1 month to 18 months, at intervals. What data you share can be spread across contacts which you select by email and verify by phone. There isn't a default to send all data to an address, you have to select it. The individual selection of data that can be filtered has also grown since my first usage in 2014.
As for "I'd rather have the option to trust a handful of users which have all report that I'm dead before taking any actions" is a fair point regarding that Facebook requires a death certificate. Though, this is not the same as the Inactivity manager, which is what Google is offering. The purpose is to be a way to allow people to access content on your accounts after a period of time. It allows a set number of contacts to access your account in a provisioned way, through a very refined selection set that even breaks down separate google play stores (books, music, play, and movies.) I also saw selections for Mail, Photos, and 42 other different data points that can be sent to separate users.
It is a preemptive step by the account owner to verify their information will be easily retrieved by a family member or friend.
I would suggest taking a look at the Inactivity manager. It has a more robust set of features than most inactivity systems, and doesn't just apply to death. Even in death, it allows a family to collect photos, contact lists, and other mementos of a persons life.
This has been around for years and is nothing related to Google's new automatic removal of certain location data.

New York Times wants to charge for subscription over 5 articles a month, they put forth the effort to earn it. While not abusing my trust. They aren't forcing a user into a choice that is similar to a loss/loss situation like Salon.
I pay for electricity, I pay for internet. I pay for hardware. I don't pay directly to visit a site online. I pay a fee to access the content if it is locked down. But if someone wants to places ads, that doesn't take a hit on a system. Then the content is worth it.
If Salon wants to offer a choice of blocking those who AdBlock, or mine a currency for them. The site isn't worth any bit of it's content. I'll waste my processing power and actual power bill on something that benefits my own life and not the Salon Media Group.
