very balanced thought. World does run on incentives and social structure defines a major role . I am not sure how AI can ever replace that . I love your analogy of 70s word processor . I have always referred AI to my folks that it is nothing but an updated version of clippy

self improving only when it knows how to test itself . if the test is predictable outcome defined by humans most companies are going to fine tune to pass self improving test , but what happens next . Improvement is vague in terms of who seeks the benefit and may not fall as how humans have thought over millions of years of evolution.

think more deeply . who benefits with super intelligence ? at the end it is game of what humans desire naturally. AI has no incentive and are not controlled by hormones.

[I work as a SA] . There are many companies that don't have a original COBOL source code only compiled objects which has been running for more than few decades. How can you guarantee that it will run perfectly in k8s . Major companies can never take that risk unless you give them some insurance against failure

Just because IBM stuff is legacy doesnot means it is slow. Almost nobody is moving from a commercial database (Db2 for z/OS) to PostgreSQL because of performance. It is all to do with huge licensing cost. Talk to any veterans nothing matches the speed and stability of mainframe. search about z16 (tell me anything that guarantees 9 nines of availability)

You stole my words! Thank you again for sharing this option. I just knew about big brands OracleGate , Qlik, IBM IIDR etc but this is interesting. I hope somebody shares the experience with the Pro version and how was the support experience.?

exactly. I have a kid in 4th grade . He got bad grades all year in his internal assessments. All the teacher would do is circle out the mistakes for silly mistakes. My kid scored a 96 percentile , toping all the 4th grader in his school My kid knows how to solve and understand the concepts just lack in describing it. I completely favor standardize test as there was no person involved to judge (who can also be biased).
