But Israeli culture, in high tech, is the exact opposite. Even in my military service, I was arguing against a Lt. Colonel when I had 4 months of experience. Chutzpah is what is driving half of the local startups: CEOs have to convince their teams that regularly poke holes in their plans and ideas. Not all companies are that way, but for years I’ve been hearing from people I tend to assume too many people would speak up. First time I’m hearing I have a bias towards the other side.

Creepy to have someone tweet me when I didn't give you my twitter. Creepier when a mistake is made. Might want to convert mails to twitters for inside analytics or spotting influential users though, but dislike providing extra services with mail addresses of my users. Creepy.

Some facts:

1. IDF has dropped leaflets in general areas that are to be attacked 2. IDF is calling the houses in building that need to be attacked because of stashed ammo etc. 3. IDF just now fired warning shots (no harm done) near homes.

If people are still there, it's usually because Hamas is holding them hostages as human shields, as Hamas is bound to do.

Also, IDF NEVER intends to harm civilians. As an Israeli I'm deeply sorry to see casualties, but I know there is no army that does so much to prevent it, and certainly when the enemy is boasting injuring civilians (Official Hamas tweet from earlier today https://t.co/jpB5SHWJ )

Yes. This is called "negative option billing" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_option_billing). We (at BillGuard) see many people that fall into these kind of shady business models. It's pretty amazing that this is still legal and VCs are throwing money at it.

We're just starting off with Puppet and EC2, but in general my current feeling is that I'd rather postpone maintaining images as long as I can. This is because a) I don't trust myself to keep these up-to-date, meaning I'll need configuration once the instance is up b) The cost of making a change is tiny with puppet. If you've got images you have to save them again after making the changes. That extra step currently has no value for me, when setting up a machine takes 2 minutes (which is fast enough for us)

Well, my point was that validating in the function does no good: it'll raise an error you'll see in the logs and debug later to try and understand what caused it. Why not write the test that makes sure your code will never call the function with bad input and be done with it?

And, you should write a test. Period. A factory isn't needed and the bunch of shit is only if you're using version < 3.0.

Open fire at soldiers (while already trying to dispute a country's authority) and yet be surprised there's a response? Stupid, stupid people. Would the any country not respond to vessels coming to their shores and firing?

2. I saw no mention of the best killer feature I can see for this, which is allowing refactoring and restructuring of code by extract bubbles, moving them around, popping bubbles... I've been wanting to perform refactorings in a visible fashion for quite some time now.

Who in their right mind would choose Notes over anything else (Gmail, outlook, pine, telnet)?
