Truly forgotten. I have read a number of works by Smith but never came across this one. Would be adding this to me reading-list.

This is a more technical viewpoint. A more holistic view would have considered native ads, ads disguised as content, or even content disguised as ads.

It is more attractive to look at WASM as a way to bring a lot of other languages into the web. We are already transpiling a lot of code, ES7, TypeScript, ClojureScript, Dart, and so on. I would say WASM makes a lot better target than JS will ever be.

IMHO autonomous driving systems still do not mix well with humans on the road. Could even say they are not compatible with each other. With how things have been going, soon we would have systems predicting behavior of human driver for safer driving. But by then, roads will have humans, systems predicting human behavior and systems released between the two without prediction.
