Last year my daughter was just learning to sound out words and write them, and was coming to me for help in spelling them to make little sentences. One day I was busy working, so I suggested she go ask alexa how to spell the words. An hour later she came back with a whole page story! After that, she'd go to alexa a few times a week to get help with spelling, and started exploring games and asking for other info.

I've thought about this lately, and think that a trial period would be best, with both parties clear that it is a trial period for each other.

I see it more as people trying to solve problems they come across. If you contribute to the ones you are close to, and others do the same, things improve.

I would categorize user testing under 'Design Skills' (UX Design), as well as CSS and HTML (Web Design). Design might be a third type of role, that is neither technical, nor business.

as i remember, iPhone sdk was released after Android. it seemed to be that iPhone sdk was not intended for developers, but Android forced them to, because it seemed like an obviously good idea.

I tried to submit the url first, but it was considered spam - I guess using an unbounce page for a non-existing service is kind of spammy, but this seems to be considered the 'lean' way.

I have used http://www.strongbox.io/ - it allows you to create a 'box' of passwords or other data that is securely shared with other users.

If I was an artist considering this, I would want to see a video of the reviewing artist as they listened to my song. I would want to see their facial expression, and see that the reviewer seems like they know what they are talking about. Also, if I could listen to the music of the reviewing artist, I could judge if the review has any merit.

Sounds logical. If it fails, hopefully the reason for failure is not the logo, or an accumulation of things done quickly and cheaply.

It may cost you more in the long run if you update/replace the logo you got for only $30 now. The branding and visual elements for your site and company should work with your logo; so whatever branding assets you have (site, business cards, stationary, ads) will all have to be updated if you change the logo later. I would not consider this to be a low risk experiment.

The point about visual aesthetics may be true, but that's only a part of what a graphic designer does: a good graphic designer will solve communication problems, and that is definitely a business problem worth solving well.

You could try listening to podcasts - when I was 'commuting' (i was actually walking) to work, I'd listen to something informative and interesting, so I'd arrive at work inspired every day. For example, TED talks, or web tech stuff: http://5by5.tv/webahead
