I have been using pass[https://www.passwordstore.org/] for two years now and it works reasonably well.
Desktop "GUI": rofi-pass[https://github.com/carnager/rofi-pass]
Android Client: https://f-droid.org/packages/com.zeapo.pwdstore/
Sync: Git+Manual download
All components are open source and actively maintained.
Would be nice to have https://bugs.chromium.org/p/v8/issues/detail?id=5866 resolved so embedding/extending V8 would be a lot easier.
Neat. I wasn't aware firebase had independent hosting option.
It definitely looks easier to setup than GAE and I would've probably used it if I was aware. Thanks for pointing this out.
Mobile internet coverage is awesome.
It is actually much better in remote-ish area compared to heart of Kathmandu.
Internet, electricity, and infrastructure is all improving and the costs are still super cheap.
The internet situation has improved drastically over the years. In just 3 years I went from crappy 128kbps to 256kbps, 512kbps, 1mbps, 2mbps, 5mbps and 10mbps fiber connection at basically the same monthly fee (less than $20/mo and it includes TV).
Things are definitely improving but Kathmandu is still unlivable due to dust. Monsoon can't come soon enough so we can trade it for knee deep mud. :-P
There is also http://react.semantic-ui.com/ which I have found to be very useful.
If anyone is interested seeing another interesting service, our organization is currently developing user onboarding over SSH (WIP). All sources are public [1] and easy to follow/read. It's written in nodejs and has nice blessed/blessed-contrib based UI.
This seems to do same thing as tmux+weechat on server and weechat/weechat-android/glowing bear as client but graphical.
If you want try tmux+weechat combo but don't have/want to setup a VPS, create an account at hashbang.sh. It's a free shell service and we drop new users in weechat instance running tmux.
I have something similar bookmarked though I can't remember the original author. I've been using it for a while as quick note taking app and it works wonderfully. (tested on chrome)
javascript:(function(d){d.write('<body contenteditable style="font: 2rem/1.5 monospace;max-width:60rem;margin:0 auto;padding:4rem;">');var k = 'c'; var q = d.querySelector('body');q.innerHTML=localStorage[k];q.oninput=function(){localStorage[k]=q.innerHTML;}})(document);Well there are billion Indians, so it's no a surprise.
Just bring your own supplies if you are visiting and you should be alright. It's not like we can be of any help regarding that :-P
Oh haha. Your surname is common one in Kathmandu and uncommon one outside the valley. I guess it's more widespread that I think lol
Are you Nepali/of Nepali origin? It's great to see a (possible) compatriot featured in 1st page of HN for hacking HN.
The reward does seem a bit thrifty as others have pointed out. Keep up the good work.
