TUI apps are quick, efficient, portable and usable through ssh. If crisp graphics is the only downside I really don't mind.

Isn't this same premise as "lets buy few GPUs to mine crypto and have passive income"? It didn't work very well and it probably won't work now either. If there is money to be made, bigger players will get in there, buy out all mac minis they can, drive price up for regular people and inevitably drive inference price down so you'll be lucky to get initial investment back

I personally hate that I need to download app from every company for every service they offer. On the other hand I love tje simplicity of opening webpage, do what I want to do there and forget it. Probably 80% of app in my phone are used very rarely, often just once yet they still sit there, getting updates, requesting permissions and sometimes eating battery... good web app can do everything native app can.

You have to imagine other people might think differently than you do... I forget, it happens, nothing I can do with it. Having notification on my phone (place I'll look sooner or later) that laundry is done was great lifehack for me. No longer I forget and leave it there for whole night or even days...

Life on Earth would be perfect ecosystem without human. Sure lion eats zebra but there are no animal species capable of eradicating other species. my (very amateurish) opinion is that "high inteligence" is very effective and successful short term genetic strategy (it allowed very average mammal species to become absolute apex predator) but long term it is very unsustainable and self destructive. Look at the lion, apex predator in his environment and it is completely content. People are never content, always need more and more. We are intelligent but so bored that we spend most of our time finding out new ways to kill or at least hate each other.

While I agree that facebook is mostly obsolete outside marketplace, one thing I cannot find substite for is small communities mostly tied to specific location. If I go to facebook it is for marketplace (we have nice dedicated web in our country that works great) but for one or two groups created for our neighbourhood and the wider area around us.

I have currently some relationship issues so I might be biased but I keep asking myself what will I miss if not in relationship except sex that cannot be supplemented with family or friends… I've yet to find the answer.

Same here. I really like it. Don't mind occasional connection issues, but what really irks me is that every message has separate notification. When someone sends me 5 consecutive messages I get 5 beeps. In whatsapp app I only get notification for the first one. So when there is some conversation going in group chat and I don't have time to read it right now I'm getting bombarded with notifications.

I do maximize terminal when I have to do something more complex and I have multiple zellij (I used tmux before) panes opened.

For me it is much better than multiple terminal windows...

Some websites are better maximized too, like maps for example.

I think "why bother testing?" is more about desktop safari users are such a small demographics that most developers (especially small ones) won't bother.

Is 700 euro really that much? Considering it is probably most used device you have, something you use daily every day. For most people it is the only device with internet connection.

If you keep it for 5 years (until warranty runs out) is it 140 euro per year, 12 euro per month.

I pay 12 euro per month for netflix and I don't even think about it being expensive. Why wouldn't I spend same amount of money on the most important device I have? Except for computer maybe.

What should I imagine under term "extending"? Is that adding new extensions (like in vscode)? I never felt that this is something I often enough to need quickest possible way to do it.

Or do you mean more like changing how editor looks, how many windows/panes/tabs are displayed and where are they displayed?
