The amount of internal hype across all areas of the business (especially in the tech areas of the business) with regards to AI has been frankly stunning to witness.
My speculation on this is that China/Russia/whoever targets ISP's in order to identify people by IP that have come to their attention somehow. Your credentials aren't the only point of interest, your credentials gives up subscriber information name/email/address/etc. That's pretty valuable from an intelligence standpoint.
Sure. And we should do nothing but subsistence farming as well. But that's not really practical.
You might be surprised to learn that a lot of the world uses polymer banknotes which are siignificantly more durable and last a lot longer than traditional 'paper' based currencies. The are incredibly hard to tear/break and they do not wear out or stretch. We've been using these in Australia since 1996.

Having handled a fair amount of US currency I can say it _feels_ disgusting to handle after a certain amount of wear and often reminds me of a moist tissue. It also doesn't help that visually the notes all look very similar (as opposed to on polymer notes which have significantly different appearances and colours)

Perhaps I should have added how I noticed in the first place. I gave it a block of code with a few nested loops and asked it how many times would it run. For a small number 5 x 5 x 5, it calculated correctly. But for 5000 x 5000 x 5000 it gave the wrong answer.
I'd like to see an integration into wolfram alpha or something. That would be amazing.

Uber took over my local airport, a 100$ fare home now costs $200+ when, as you'd expect, a plane load of people call for an Uber all at once. 'Surge pricing'.
Now there's a rank for exactly FIVE (count em FIVE) taxis, a 15 minute walk from the terminal exit and a line a couple hundred meters long for the bus. This isn't a small regional airport. This is the international/domestic airport for a city of 5 million people.

You might be surprised to learn there are 3D printers with what is essentially a inkjet print head in them to do full colour 3D prints. Search up, Mimaki, HP Jet Fusion and ColorJet technology to start.
Sadly you can't use them for printing on paper though!
Microsoft (or any other company) wants to shut down the activation servers/match making servers/<servers on which the product relies> because it's no longer profitable and the app/game/whatever is no longer profitable? Please! By all means, go ahead. But on the way to the shutdown command, if you could please release an official patch so I don't need to visit the piratebay to activate software I've already paid for. That would be much appreciated by those who, for whatever reason, are still using that software. I'd like to think that positive actions taken by developers to be considerate of customers, even if they are 10+ years old, will be of benefit to them in the future.
I highly doubt many people are running 10 year old software because they refuse to upgrade, rather there's usually something specific about it that wasn't included/built for/whatever in newer versions.
Running your malicious actions without writing to disk is a very effective way of bypassing a lot of security and forensics technologies.
As soon as you make changes have persistence you have proof and some operators are not oaky with that.
There's a difference between a crash where the outcome was not deliberate vs say a deliberate attack on a convoy by ramming cars at it.
Accident implies it's not premeditated or deliberate, which, i'd wager, is the case of the vast majority of road incidents. That doesn't absolve drivers of guilt if they were in the wrong or doing something wrong at the time. But it does mean it wasn't deliberate.
Edit: You also forget that things like wildlife, mechanical failures and other things outside the control of a driver can be the cause of car crashes as well.

You can also use one device to hotspot another thus providing data without the added risks that come with having another mystery binary blob.

OpenBSD is also an extremely secure operating system. But also not terribly practical as a long term desktop environment.
Plus it doesn't solve issues with underlying hardware trusts.
The (not cost effective) solution is to carry both.
Shut off the 'normal' smart phone when you don't need it (for banking or what have you).
Use the web version of Whatsapp (https://web.whatsapp.com/) if you must use it. You could even consider having a WhatsApp specific phone if you have an older model that you've upgraded from that contains no other data.

That depends on a lot of things. But some realistic concerns might include evesdropping using parabolic microphones, covert listening devices deployed at the meeting point etc.
Not to mention a) arranging the meeting and b) getting to the meeting need to be performed some how. Getting from point A to point B is, in today's society, not a surveillance free affair. Everything you carry can be used to track you, and even if you carry nothing, hundreds of CCTV cameras can likely follow you along the majority of your chosen route.
Thus the 'metadata' of your meeting is still known, even if the contents of your meeting isn't.
