Not OP, but here's some off the top of my head:

The .io project is a different fork from the original project than the one referred to by this post.

I've cut down on the extensions I use over the years. Here's my entire list:

* HTTP Switchboard - useful for debugging/blocking annoyances, also doubles as an adblocker

* LastPass - honestly, I'd probably be using 1Password if they had a linux client

* PDF Viewer - Mozilla endorsed drop-in pdf.js plugin

* Smile Always - converts amazon.com uris to smile.amazon.com, which donates a portion of your purchases to charity

Try Midori? Runs on Webkit, has all of the base features of the other major browsers (web inspector, bookmarks, etc) without the cloud/syncing features or addons.

I've had bad luck with video drivers for AMD and Nvidia cards on most distros, so I'd stick with Intel whenever possible.
