No but seriously, it was one of the best periods of my life. A lot of creativity, freedom and long nights working on things that are far away from the corporate world.

I learned it a little bit when working on my scientific analysis tool for single cell RNA-seq analysis. It takes time to learn, but there are many examples out there.
I switched from a MBP 2017 model with touch bar to a Thinkpad X1 Carbon (6 gen). I installed Ubuntu Linux and I'm happy. I do all my work on this laptop. But I've spent quite a lot of time getting the hardware to play nicely, upgrading bios + a lot of Linux config tweaking.
Terrifying. Could it be that stress caused the Streptococcus pyogenes infection? It would be the most sensible explanation. I imagine being a CEO of a startup is a very stressful role, causing suppression of the immune system and thereby S pyogenes had a chance to proliferate. I have no idea, just speculation.
It's much more likely that this is just because of bugs in the code than aliens. I imagine these systems consist of millions of lines of code, sooner or later there will be a bug like this.
Remove the touch bar and reintroduce the magnetic power connector - it was such a great thing. And then please make the arrow up and down keys larger - I find myself hitting the wrong key several times every day.
If your tools don't generate useful insights, then you are not using them right. A properly designed study, employing high-dimensional genomics data, can for sure generate mechanistic insights, not just correlations. It's all about your study design.
Get us anywhere? That is research, small pieces to the larger puzzle. Biology is complex, a lot of molecules doing different things. We don't have perfect tools to study those molecules or their interactions. Genomics and statistics offer one path to their study, and they complement already existing methods.
Researchers in genomics are aware of this and that is why researchers are expected to correct their p-values for multiple testing, for example using q-values.
Isn't the risk that these companies will just let Indian's do the work in India instead of bringing them to the US? Won't the US loose tax money with such a setup?
