I appreciate these articles because it highlights how circumstances can change for a group of people at any moment. The old saying, "First they came for ... then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me" rings in my mind.

It's important we highlight these struggles and do our part in supporting them... you might find yourself in a similar situation one day. With that I'd encourage folks to read more about BLM, Uighur concentration camps, Palestine, etc. Even if you feel powerless in stopping oppression the very least you could do is be aware and spread the word.

Today, our strong partnership with our Israeli counterparts in signals intelligence is protecting people from terrorism as I write.

This article celebrates the intelligence / defense community which after just coming back from a trip to Israel & Palestine I feel obliged to add an asterisk to. What goes on in Israel under the pretense of security is horrifying to say the least. I don't mean to undermine the great accomplishments of the codebreakers. But I do want to address the modern context this article mentions.

@gizmo686 Does taking water from the Palestinians and then returning a portion back to them count?

I linked to some articles/info above for more info.

The water body is in Palestine, from the graphic, specifically the city of Ramallah.

I don't want a flamewar either :) just trying to trying to be the grain of salt.

Is that supposed to be a bonus point for Israel? So does the US Prison system to inmates. When you control all borders, airspace and sea access what other option is there?

Comment from original article sums it up nicely:

"So Jordan gets a shiny new water plant; Israel gets more resources to colonize the Negev Desert, and the Palestinians "get" to pay Israel for water that comes from a Palestinian aquifer." - joewmitchell
