Looking at network flows from rdio servers reveals that the mp3 chunks are actually 192 kbps.

In terms of sound quality, Rdio streams at 192 kbps and Spotify Free at 160 kbps.

The first point, getting to know people online before meeting them, is super helpful. It's nice to be able to instantly know a few people right when an event starts off.

The fact that your targets need to be connected on the same wifi makes this tool itself not as 'powerful' as this article makes it (it's not much different than Wifi Pineapple). You can probably build an even cheaper one with an old Android phone off ebay for $20.

Very cool project. I'm curious as to how you're getting all these robots - are you scraping them yourself?

I feel that not enough people realize that this has so many uses than just recovering a lost phone.
