When big money monopolists corrupt our local governments to obtain taxi monopolies at the expense of working families, the environment, and vulnerable racial minorities that can't hail taxis but can get an Uber, then it's the system that's antisocial and antidemocratic.
Uber is a social reform movement organized as a profit-seeking business. Of course the forces of corruption and reaction are going to try to stop it under cover of law.

Apple has solved this problem in the current models. There's no longer any way for the hard disk to leave you in doubt. It's now fused to the motherboard permanently so that it cannot be recovered even if it does survive some kind of trouble.

There has been amazing news from Apple since Steve died. There was the introduction two years before everyone else of the new blazing fast ARM AARCH 64. There was retina notebooks. There was the design and thumbprint reader tech on iPhone5.
But all of those were built and designed while Steve was leading Apple. They're like little amazing tech gifts from beyond the grave. It just takes a while to get to mass market.
There has been nothing amazing that started while Tim Cook has been running the place except raising margins by making base products less useful. Keeping the crippling 16GB limit on base iPhones for three extra years while camera images grew and grew was a bold move to drive up average selling price at the expense of customer happiness.
You've always been able to get more bang for your buck with a Windows machine
Actually, Apple has been selling price competitive or even cheap machines compared to other offerings with similar performance for years. From 2007-2015 Apple consistently had the best prices for pro laptops and desktop machines among offerings with comparable build quality.
The $300 price bump for equivalent machines in 2016 and disappointing spec upgrades in 2015 and 2016 are a new deviation.
The price performance advantage of Windows machines is returning from a very long hiatus. And for Mac users it's unwelcome.
Tim Cook's Apple, of course, is all about high margins and raising average selling price. They're eating the seed corn to squeeze out more short term profits. We'll see how long it lasts.

Technically, every country in South America is considered a part of Latin America except British Guyana, Suriname, and France. Not including islands like the Malvinas or the ABC islands, of course.

I should have specified one single flight. Of course you can fly to Dubai from São Paulo and then to Seoul or to Sydney from Santiago and then on to Peking.
But direct flights are very limited.

There is one flight from Latin America to east Asia. Aeromexico flies from Mexico City to Tokyo and Shanghai alternately with their 787s. (ANA is adding a NRT-MEX flight this winter also.)
But there are many, many connecting flights through DFW, Houston, LAX, and SFO. The direct flight costs upwards of $500 more, often a 60% or higher premium. That's the value of avoiding transit through the USA and the visa and CIS procedures involved. (Actually, the first $100 could be the usual price for a direct flight over a connection, but the same $500+ price increment seems to apply to connecting flights.)
Aeromexico is not known for its excellent seats, service, or food (though they're fine as airlines go). It's all about avoiding US officials.

Yes. And I've experienced the USA health care system also.
Health care that doesn't require waiting in a dingy room and health care that is effective at treating nearly every condition that modern science can treat well is not the same thing. IMSS will cure you or keep you from getting worse or dying at the same level of effectiveness as the USA's system at 1/30th the cost and you probably can get it for free.
I pay for private care because it's nicer and I don't like waiting, but that private care is very, very affordable also compared to the USA or Canada.
I won't say Mexican health care is perfect, but it is good and it is accessible.
Describing it as a third world health care service is being generous.
I've seen third world health care when I was in Guatemala. It's not just a matter of slow and dingy but of frauds, total lack of available services, dangerously unsterile practices, public ignorance of safe public health practices in both medicine and food handling, and a whole panoply of faults and dangers. And Guatemala is above the world's average income and about average in education/literacy levels. Mexico is not a third world country just because public services aren't as nice as we'd like.
I pay for private health care also because Dr. SIMM either isn't available or isn't convenient for me. But the fact remains that health care that works for the vast majority of things modern medical science can actually improve is available to every citizen.
And the thing that makes the system one of the best in the world is that it provides care at prices that middle class people can afford and where those prices are public quickly and easily to everyone. And it does so with a relatively small cost compared to GDP.
Compare that to the expense of Canada's system or the insanity of the USA system.
Shouldn't be surprising. Mexico is an emerging first world nation with universal health care, one of the best run systems in the world. Mexican-Americans live longer than white Americans indicating a long lived biology. And non-smoking Mexicans already live longer than non-smoking Americans while the smoking rate is dropping.
Croatia is also an emerging first world nation (though coming via the second world rather than the third as Mexico is) closely related to nations like Italy and Hungary with admirable levels of health and education. It has the support of the EU and all the experience in developing quality social services that implies.
Croatia and Mexico are good countries to share company with in the longevity statistics.
Of course people will try to scare you by implying those are backward countries. It's like when people compare your education statistics to Finland (#1 in elementary education) and Hungary (home of John von Neumann, known as the smartest man of the atomic and computer ages by the great minds that founded both sciences, and the Polgar sisters). Just because you aren't familiar with a nation doesn't mean it isn't great in some way.
