Just a couple of points to consider. In the static Casimir effect the mirrors cancel out virtual 1/2 wavelength standing waves so there is pressure outside of the gap forcing the plates together. In the dynamic Casimir effect the mirrors move fast enough to cancel out only half of the pair of virtual waves. The other half whose energy is provided from the movement of the mirrors remains.
I don't agree. The way to make money is to do the simplest thing that makes money. Rarely is that the thing that you least want to do.
This article was well written but deceptively pointless.

Has anyone proven that he has ALS? That is, are there proven genetic or other markers that can correctly diagnose the disease? For example does he have a defective super oxide dismutate or heme oxygenase one?
It's been my experience that most of these Chinese biotech companies are factories. One guy makes all the money and the rest do all the work. This is not at all like the computer technology model in the US.

I went to the same grad school as the author did and got a PhD in physics there. Most of the professors I knew who taught the guy said the same thing to me about the book. It's just awful.

I just can't get past the feeling that Google+ violates my privacy. I've started using Facebook which I ultimately regret because it's invasive, too controlling, and has stupidity embedded in it. In the end these kinds of forums are the only ones I find worthwhile anyway. I don't care what my real friends think about what I like, and don't want anyone else I know to judge me. Why am I letting people I don't even know control the way I express myself to my friends anyway?
I agree. Google seems to have replaced the concept of "Simplicity is best" with a misconceived notion about elegance. I don't want to search for hidden buttons just to log off, or delete, or open, or save changes. I just want to get things done and move on.
