Are you buying that it's just a coincidence that the author quoted the opinion of the vice president of the Democratic party in an article that's clearly in opposition of the view point of the leader of the Republican party? What's that you said about taking a critical look again?

Your serious? Her being a politician should EXCLUDE her opinion on the mater as completely irrelevant... she is not an expert and therefore her opinion is as relevant as Trump's = irrelevant!!! Wake up!

This is exactly my point. You are part of the problem the article was pointing out. I personally, don't care what her opinion is because she's not an expert. Just like I don't care what Trump's opinion is because he's not an expert. The fact that the article says I should shows that it's politically biased, and the hypocrisy of talking about how political motivations are causing problems while simultaneous politically charging your own article is disgusting.

By including the quote from a political candidate the author is saying (without words) that her opinion on the mater matters. Therefore, the AUTHOR is telling me that I should care what Kamala Harris' opinion on the matter is. How can you not see that?

At best the author is making the same mistake being talked about in the article by accident. At worst they are quoting her because they support her bid in the upcoming election. Either way it's politically biased.

No it wouldn't be consistent with that. That would be consistent with not thinking critically. The hypocrisy of quoting a politician in order to reinforce your narrative whilst simultaneous talking about how the narrative your trying to reinforce is being driven by political motivations is... well it's sad really.

I prefer using forums. They feel more personal, inviting, and calm. My bookmarks include top forums for every language I use. I would rather wait a few hours for an answer than bother with SO when I have questions that don't seem to have been asked before. SO is hostile even after years, and years of use I still always feel as though I am walking on eggshells when I post questions to SO. That's not okay.

Right, but first we have to establish that they actual fear this. Then we have to establish who they are, and what their qualifications are. Then, as non-experts, if enough experts agree with the ones who are making the claim we can choose to worry or not to worry depending on circumstances.

That doesn't sound like fear to me, and in some respects the article comes off on me as though the author is attempting to elicit fear where there should be none. I am not a parent myself, but if there's one thing I know about them it's that they tend to be VERY fearful when it comes to their children's safety. If the author is deliberately toying with that then the ought to be ashamed.

It seems fishy to me as well knowing that most farmers operate at a loss each year. Whatever profit a system like this might generate would have to be enough to offset those losses whilst still providing enough to keep the farmers happy along with the investors?? Seems pretty damn unlikely that this "agroforestry" is capable of doing that.

Yeah I was wondering what exactly was meant by "reservation".. in my experience you can't, as an outsider (non-native), just go, and live on the reservation. So unless it's unlike any reservations in my state then there must have been something I was missing.

It's a feature not a bug. The entire system was designed s/t it is incredibly hard for anyone in Washington to do anything. There are good reasons for that.

I currently work as a developer for a company that develops a "black box" (as we call them in the business) for the AG industry. We develop the systems the author was referring to that provide: auto-steer/guidance, and application control for tractors.

I am not sure if that makes my perspective unique or not, but as a general rule of thumb I would tell anyone looking to get into the "dirt work" (growing) of the AG business to change their minds. In fact, I would tell them to run for the hills. Most farmers in America (aside from the huge co-ops) operate at a loss each year, and only survive due to subsidies, at least here in America.

That being said, if you are interested I can say for sure there is a LOT of money to be made developing the systems I currently work on and/or contracting yourself out to companies like mine for existing work we can not handle in house.

Wow... I haven't read an article that made me more upset than that one in weeks. The "Diablo 3" we got had no business calling itself Diablo anything imo. We didn't dodge a bullet, we were robbed.

Imo, it's an unalienable right for everybody, but that doesn't mean cancel culture won't #$(% on you for speaking your belief.
