My biggest need for managing the icons in the menu bar is to prevent them from getting lost behind the notch on my 14" MBP. I recently discovered this question on StackExchange on how to change the icon spacing and padding and that has kinda resolved the situation, but it doesn't look visually as good.

Perhaps the padding and spacing adjustment could also be brought to Ice?

I'm happy to see that alternatives to Bartender exist! I guess this is not the most straightforward thing to do, as there seem to be many apps for this, but most are no longer in development.

As an aside, there are options in macOS to move some icons like bluetooth and wifi to the control center away from the status bar, but for some reason they always seem to come back.

Looks like the author of these packages agrees. While the is-even and is-odd packages are under the i-voted-for-trump user with the description "This is a joke", the is-number package [1] is still kept under the main profile of the author, the repository is still active on GitHub and there are active issues.

That's Guitar Hero 3, released in 2007, so yes, 10 years old. The original Guitar Hero is a couple of years older (released in 2005).

Nice. There's a bug, self posts have an extra slash in the url (for example "Show HN: How to discuss with opinionated people using the Socratic method[video]" which is currently on the front page for me).

Seems nice and simple, good job! Some comments/suggestions:

* There seems to be no <title> tag on the page, or at least I don't see a title for the page.

* When the browser downloads the output, it is served to it as a "binary file" (Firefox on Mac), not PDF, meaning I have no other option than to download it. I think (though I'm not sure) that if you set the content type correctly it could open straight in a new tab, or at least let me open it straight in a PDF viewer.

* The paper format looks a bit off to me, I guess it's because it's letter? In that case, not everyone uses that (we use A4), though lettings users set it would increase UI complexity.

Looks pretty nice. Some criticisms:

* I dislike how the website hijacks scrolling, the phone doesn't fit on a Macbook 13" screen so I tried to scroll down, but that just scrolled in the app

* When scrolling out to a view where I see many months at once it can only show a few events, in the demo it only shows Gym, and when I zoom in a bit more it also shows Hockey with kids. I feel these recurring events should have the lowest priority when zoomed out, it's more important to see "special" one-off events.

* It's not clear that there are events hidden. When zoomed out a lot it's of course expected that this is the case, but when zoomed out a bit more it might be unclear if all events for a time period are visible or not.

I was unable to get it to work in Firefox or Chrome (even tried disabling extensions on both), but it seems to work okay in IE. I was unsure if it was even meant to be played with a mouse at first.

While I agree with your point completely, I want to point out that /r/karmaconspiracy is a joke/satirical subreddit.

StarTalk Radio (hosted by Neil DeGrasse Tyson) has covered this topic together with Miles O' Brien in the two most recent episodes. I'm a fan of the show, but I can imagine some might find it too humorous for their tastes.

It says "For Windows 7 and above" under the top download button while it says "For Windows XP and above" on the other two.

There is a plugin called "Windows Credentials", which according to the description uses Windows credentials instead of saving the passwords as plaintext.

I am unfortunately not exactly aware of what this means in practice, but I doubt it is worse than the default behaviour. But for Windows only, one could assume.

Would be pretty great to have this as an RSS feed (one daily/weekly/monthly item). I hesitate to subscribe to the email, but I wouldn't mind getting a the daily version in my RSS feeds.

Now that I mention it, some kind of service where I could get all emails from as RSS would be pretty neat.

EDIT: Seems like there is one! http://www.mmmmail.com/ However, I'm hardly able to just change my github email to that and have password reset emails etc be available to the public in the RSS feed. Best solution would be some kind of Gmail filter, where all emails with a specific tag would be available in the feed.
