This could be really interesting, we are currently using some custom bot detection techniques that also try to slow down / crash chrome headless and such, but it would be nice if we could just use this new Cloudflare service and stop worrying about maintaining it.
I have a few questions, though:
1. How does this work with mobile apps / single page applications APIs? I'm worried this would block legitimate users
2. Is it possible to enable/disable this feature on URLs patterns using page rules? I'm not seeing the option right now
3. Do blocked requests end up in the firewall logs? If so, how do we filter for it? Specific rule id?
4. Is there a way to enable it in log mode in order to evaluate the impact it would have?

I created it because I was annoyed with the lack of notifications provided by GitHub for some events like new people following you or starring/forking your projects. A lot of people are now using it and that makes me happy even though I'm losing money by keeping it online.
Hi, not at the moment, but since it's a frequently requested feature, it's on the roadmap.
I'm the author, feel free to ask me any question, I'm currently in the (albeit very slow) process of rewriting the whole project in Elixir. I'm also planning a few new features like organization notifications and better stats.
Author here, the project was originally named GitHub Notifier, however shortly after launch the legal department of GitHub contacted me and was very helpful to guide me through resolving the issues with the naming, they even sent me a mug to compensate for the trouble of going through the name change even though I was clearly violating their terms.

This looks really neat! We are deploying a few new microservices every month now and I'm afraid that things will get out of hand networking wise (we are too using ELBs for both load balancing and service discovery), so I'm looking forward to try Envoy, thank you for open sourcing it guys.

The article was posted a week ago, but there are no updates about iOS 8.2 as of today and since it shouldn't be too long to just upgrade iOS and see if after 10 attempts the device gets wiped I'm guessing that the fix for CVE-2014-4451 actually patched this but the news wasn't as interesting as it would've been "iOS 8.2 vulnerable too" to update the post with

You're right, atm you have to unselect all the notifications to stop receiving emails (however if you click unsubscribe from an email there's a button that does that without manually clicking).
Unfortunately I can't exclude organisation altogether, GitHub applications have access to organisation with the permissions that the user has allowed the app. However now GitHub Notifier only asks for read permissions :)

You do have all this in your timeline, but mine is really cluttered with all the notifications from my main job's organisation and it's easy to lose interesting stuff happening on my repos. About the email frequency, you can choose to only receive a daily or weekly report.
