Well, I proactively quit both my Amazon and Ebay accounts. The occasion was trouble with Chinese dealers, in which both Amazon and Ebay weren't helpful at all, but the main reason is that I simply have enough of soulless mega-corporations, that try to build monopolies.

This forces me to use smaller (often local) alternatives, and honestly I don't miss anything.

So my 2ct: Stop complaining, instead do something. Stop using Amazon, Google, Ebay, Facebook and the likes.

YOU are the one that makes them unavoidable, so just stop doing so.

Before the Internet, there was Fidonet, and before that, there were mailboxes. And you know what? All that shoot that's going on today was already happening back then: Shitstorms, Bullying, Doxxing, it all happened. Only that it was a small community of nerds, with no celebrities, politicians and influencers, so all it was was a storm in a teacup, that could easily be ignored.

So when 'Social' Media appeared, I instantly knew that this was a bad idea, and never used it.

I did indeed try Mastodon a few years back, and found it to be the same pile of steaming manure that I had expected.

The solution? Except better education, I don't have one.

I keep to small communities of decent people with the same interests, and that's it for me.

Any reason why the F-Droid version is behind the official one?

I mean, you should now have learned that you can't rely on one single distribution channel.

The USA had always had a tendency towards witch hunts.

I'm not saying that there aren't people that had it coming, but it's never a good idea to switch your brain off and run with the crowd.

CircuitPython is a toy language made for running on Adafruit's halloween/cosplaying gadgets.

I bet that future Raspberry Pi boards will have a RP2040 or successor chip onboard, to do the bit banging/realtime jobs on the I/O port.

Or they will even integrate it into their SOC.

Shame though, that they didn't make the IO ports 5V capable. It's nowadays pretty common for microcontrollers that are meant for industrial and automotive use to have a separate supply for the I/O ports, that can go up to 5V, independent from the core/peripheral voltage.

The main use is to drive (logic-level) MOSFETs directly, interface to 5V buses like SENT, CAN, etc. without having to use level shifters.

That's rich, coming from a company that tramples over everybody's privacy.

Amazon sellers keep complaining, that more and more users only bother to write reviews when something is wrong with the product, but not when everything is OK.

Well, I wrote three 5 star reviews during the last year, and I put a real effort into them, giving others tips how to avoid common mistakes when using the product, and correcting common misconceptions. I could do this, because I know this class of devices well.

The outcome was in every case, that I got a message back, that Amazon has to check and approve the reviews, which never happened. It's obvious, that they either don't want thorough reviews, even if they are 5 star, or are just not able to understand them.

After that, I understandably stopped to write reviews. In fact, I deleted my Amazon account, because I had some cases of defective products and dubious dealers, in which Amazon wasn't helpful at all, and that seems to become more and more common recently.

I recently suspended my Ebay account. One of the reasons was the fact that, although I used 2-factor login, Ebay forced me to solve captchas every second login.

What am I? A trained monkey jumping through hoops?

Ebay even sells FIDO2 sticks, but is to dumb to actually implement FIDO login?

Ridiculous.

Please die a screaming death. All of you captcha services. I hate you.

A lot of apps for media playing and social media for the Go are still under active development. Not allowing updates will effectively cut off Go users from social media.

I stopped trusting reporters about 35 years ago, when I personally witnessed an occurrence, where a reporter was at the scene, and later read what he had written about it in the newspaper.

It had practically nothing to do with what really happened, but was written in a way that most of their readers would most likely expect and endorse.

I was still very young then, but it opened my eyes, and from then on, I mostly stopped reading newspapers, and don't trust anything they write, without checking the facts.

Do they also ban apps that show public transport schedules, because you can't buy tickets through them?

I'm working in the automotive industry for over 15 years, designing components for both conventional and electric cars, and I've never heard of this company.
