I don't disagree with you on BMW's data collection capabilities. However, I've read about 2023s being tuned. It's also widely reported that BMW encrypted many of the computers starting in 2024.

This past September, BMW disabled 3rd party access (think Home Assistant) to vehicle data. There are only 2 paid 3rd party companies allowed. 2+ years of me using HA (with some awesome automations) was terminated. I was willing to let them use my data as long as I could too, but now I don't even have access to my own data!

I had 3 in my yard. I never thought twice about them until one split down the middle & destroyed my carport 3 years ago. I cut the rest of that one down & the one next to it that could fall on my house. A neighbor had one split last summer & blocked the road. The wood from these trees are dense and heavy. I never walk under them anymore due to how quickly they just fall down.

This was the first thing I noticed after I upgraded. I constantly switched between faces & now I have this extra step. Super annoying.

Regarding the "Genre" tag, Apple Music make that problem 1000% worse as Apple Music does NOT allow multiple separate Genres per track. When selecting multiple Genres, it concatenates the names into a unique Genre thus defeating the purpose of trying to tag a track with multiple Genres. It is the only musics database that I've seen do this.

I was an avid Flickr user before Yahoo seemed to degrade the quality. Specifically for me, many of the groups I was in all of a sudden allowed illustrations as valid photographs. These were NOT photographs....so I moved on from Flickr.

Trillions of dollars are NOT missing…never were. With 34 colors of money, subdivided by Fiscal Year (FY), and where the RDT&E is further divided by 8 budget activities (each also divided by FY), it becomes a task impossible to tell congress (who actually created this insane level of fiscal sub-division in the first place) that every single dollar was spent according to their scheme.

Think about it, there is not a single off the shelf enterprise accounting system designed to accommodate even a fraction of this maniacal minutia.

Note that the cited list didn’t account for JIEDO appropriation type (which also had a FY component) which was prevalent over the past 20 years, but is now defunct.

A major part of the problem (save the super fragmented parsing of the funding) is that each service has their own accounting & execution systems. There is NOT a singular DoD system.

Tools for Thinking 5 years ago

I've been using TheBrain for about 5 years & am mostly happy with it. It is a bit pricey though! The unique visual is an almost most for me. I'm willing to try Obsidian, but I think I'd need TheBrain's unique visual to make it work for me.

Years ago, I installed a Tripp Lite inverter/charger along with two 120AH deep cycle marine batteries - all sitting on top of my fridge. I calculated that I can get a few days of power. Also have another 1500w inverter for emergencies. And I always ensure vehicles are complete full before any large storms. Losing all your cold food is expensive!
