You're going into first place too early. You kinda have to cruse in 2nd until the very end to avoid blue shells. Better yet, stay in 9th as long as possible - that's the highest position you can get the good drops like Blue Shells, Bullets, etc. But I think you can get red shells in 2nd, so just save those till the end.

Agreed.
After the API thing, I stopped using for a few months, converting to Lemmy instead.
Then I got booted from Lemmy for not being communist enough, I started looking at Reddit again maybe once a day.
At first, I was so happy to see a lot of activity on my small subreddits that never had much activity before.
But after a few weeks I realized it's just bots basically rephrasing popular posts from the past. And bots rephrasing responses to those posts.
Where is the next Reddit? I miss it.
TikTok has gotten terrible ever since the US took it over. What's the next tiktok?
What you should really worry about is leaving your phone in an Uber. I did it once, and had no way of contacting Uber or the driver. I tried logging into Uber from a computer, but they sent a code to my phone - which of course I didn't have. The only thing that saved me - after trying to talk to someone at Uber for 4 hours - was the driver found my phone and brought it back to me after his shift ended. I had resigned to buying a new phone, I thought it'd be gone forever.
Dr. Sleep - a newer Steven King book that reads like the old ones. May be the best King book I ever read. A sequel to The Shining, taking place mainly during Dan's adulthood (Dan was the kid in The Shining), a nomadic group of RV-dwellers sustain themselves into unnaturally-long life by torturing kids with The Shining to death and eating as it oozes out of them in a gaseous state.
Honestly, I can't believe King wrote this after all the gaudy, self-indulgent garbage he produced after he stopped doing coke. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be ghost-written.
