I think the interesting part of that article was "distributed to 813... who had used bluesky and X". That seems a little misleading. What if you just picked 813 at random and asked how many had even used bluesky at all?

Oh my that brought some real memories back. My first real programing job was in 1989 on a Sun Sparc 1+ Identical to that. Writing imaging C code for an industrial app before photoshop.... Loved that box.

This has been the worse Claude day ever. Just fell apart. Not sure if the release is why, but cursing in documents and can not fix a bug after hours of back and forth.

I use claude code in vscode. Cmd-Esc opens a claude code tab. Then /ide conects to the vscode and it's all like cursor at that point.

We tend to allow this. But you can review the diff before you allow it. It seems easier to say "roll that back" or hit esc if you see it doing things you dont like and then correcting it. I have to say the velocity is insane of coding this way. We also commit a LOT and explicitly dont allow claude to push code ever. That way we can roll back if needed, but honestly it's pretty rare to need to. The MAX plan is a must to work this way though.

Every 6 months? It's turning into every two weeks. Sticking with claude code. Its working beautifully for us.

I remember going to this in the 80's and 90s'. Was astounding what you could find. Is it still going? I moved to Florida in the early 00's but still have family in the Dayton area....

For me it was obvious that there was a massive "Learning" curve. I needed to be sure this was viable for what i wanted to do. So i went with the $400 Ender 3 S1Pro. But ended up with new hotends new most everything. I didn't think there was a large difference between it and the Prusa. I intended to move up to the Prusa but the bambu lab printers came out before. Very lucky on my part.

The creality K1 Max was because i needed a bigger bed. I had an anycubic max in between and it was worse than the Ender. I never got it reliable. The K1 Max at least does get used. I just throw away a lot of filament from failures. The ones that complete are very nice.

I think this is missing a little context. I believe Prusa and to some extent the older market leader Creality were sideswiped by a better product.

A group of engineers got together and formed Bambu Labs. Their printer are all less than 2 years on market and they have become the new standard for the simple fact they just work. 3d Printing historically has been "early adopter". I'm long term tech. It took me a month of configuring and tinkering and changing to get me first ender 3 to work about 3 years ago.

I got a Bambu Labs P1P and it just worked. Right out of the box day 1. Beautiful multi color prints. All for less than my Ender 3 S1PRO cost.

I then got the new Creality K1 Max that they meant to compete with Bambu. Now 6 months later it's still not "just works". I have upgraded the Hot End and it has ruined 4 plates do to bad firmware. I am currently waiting on new mother board to fix the current issue. Waiting for 3 weeks as it comes from china. When it does work its very nice. But I have to say that's 50% of the time.

In the meantime I ordered the new Bambu A1 with the AMS Lite. Again it just works. Some issues. But in general it just works. And it's 2/3 the cost of the K1 Max.

Building a great product and doing it cheaper is why everyone is getting Bambu Labs and Not Prusa and a declined Creality market.

This seems really expensive to just wrap in electron. I do not see anything about app store insertion either. Am i missing something?

That kills me. People will not spend 10 minutes setting up a good work environment when they will use it for a few days.

If I possibly can and I remote work i setup at least a 27" 4k monitor and my 12' iPad as a second monitor with the laptop on the stand as the third.

Productivity demands it.

And of course separate keyboard and trackpad.

If somewhere for 3 or 4 days I'll ship things if needed.

Was not just DNS. We are in South Florida and run internal DNS with next hops to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8. We had about 30% of sites not available even with DNS resolving. As of 1:00 EST all is working now.....

i had a room mate in the early 90's who was a forth programmer. At the time they wrote the code that did the airport displays. It was all forth. I wrote c back then and never really grasped it. Always seemed a little like a weird assembler.
