We have a Thermomix TM31 which I repaired a few weeks ago. On the control board I found an IR module and a LED beside that which both are visible from outside (left side of the display), but are not labled. Until now I couldn't find any documentation or information about this IR interface. It would be nice if someone will reverse engineer this. And maybe also an integration into the BSH-App. Then you could remotely start the cooking process when leaving the office... :-)

I wish restaurants would just make a homepage with menu _and_ opening hours.

In my area most restaurants have no website.

If they have a website it's often very hard to find their opening hours. Under 'contact'? Nope! At the footer? Nay! Maybe somewhere hidden in the menu PDF? With luck... Outside their homepage at google maps? Maybe. On their Tripadvisor page? Hahaha! Funny! Not.

Can anyone recommend a "print PDF to Laserprinter" library?

I have been looking for a library for C# for some time now that would allow me to print PDF files on a laser printer programmatically. However, I cannot find one. Until now, I have been using Foxit Reader, which I call up via the command line. But this is not ideal for various reasons.

Will it be possible to document private repositories? And how can we prevent Google from using the code to train its AI?

Does anyone know of any trustworthy, usable alternatives? Perhaps even ones that run 100% on-premises?

About 15 years ago we had our first chickens. Due to space and time constraints, we did not build a new chicken house, but bought an old children's playhouse on stilts. The chickens should get an automatic chicken flap. But unfortunately, at that time all purchasable automatic chicken flaps worked on the principle of a winch and the flap had to go up vertically. With our chicken house, however, only a horizontally opening flap would have worked. So I built an automatic chicken flap from parts of an old inkjet printer, two limit switches and an Arduino. It has worked flawlessly for many years. Another advantage was: my control opened in the morning at 8 o'clock and closed in the evening depending on the calculated sunset (+ 30 min). Such ingenious control I have not seen in any automatic chicken flap until today. All automatic chicken flaps that can be purchased in Germany today work either with a timer or with a brightness sensor. And then either in the morning and evening only by time or brightness as trigger. Time combined with brightness can none. And the brightness sensors usually have the disadvantage that the flap opens if you shine at night longer than 1 min on the sensor, for example with the flashlight, if you work something next to the chicken house.

There are many musicians who "build" music in live concerts with modular synthesizers (in newer times mostly with Eurorack modules). Since many decades! Without computers. With some experience they know how to handle their tools. And with some experience a good live coder can do the same with his computer too.

We buy the same type of switches (and some larger/faster ones) from Netgear since a few years.

The problem is: The old version (v2) is locally managed only, whereas the new version (v3) is with cloud management:

Maybe you looked into the datasheet of the old v2? And then got delivered the new v3?

We stumbled over the same problem a few month ago, after buying a bunch of these in the new version. I thought: Newer is better... But apparently not so with Netgear products. :-(

Very confusing, what Netgear does with their product naming!
