I believe the theory is that by posting prices online hospitals will become generally regarded as being "expensive" or "inexpensive", which in turn could drive prices down.

I believe the logic comes down to the highest constitution you bind yourself to.

By birth we are bound to our country of birth's constitution and once we become an adult we have the ability to renounce that constitution and apply to be bound by another countries constitution.

I don't know if it's just me, but I feel like a majority of the HN community seems to lean towards building a sustainable business without the need to take on outside capital that adds debt to the business. I definitely agree with that sentiment, however I love a nuanced article like this which doesn't paint debt as an entirely "bad" thing that needs to be avoided at all costs.

This was an awesome article to read as it balances the risks and possible advantages that taking on debt can bring a small company.

Your response logically follows, however it is my belief that the inconsistency you point out is too nit-picky. What I mean is that HN generally follows the Principle of Charity [1] where we should seek to understand the authors strongest possible conclusion rather than tear down an entire article simple due to a relatively minor inconsistency.

A: I didn’t understand the role of simplicity and messaging early on. One of the things that happened at one of my start-ups was that I would get bored saying the same thing every day. So I decided to change it up a little bit. But then everybody had a different idea of what I thought because I was mixing it up.

So my big lesson was the importance of a simple message, and saying it the same way over and over. If you’re going to change it, change it in a big way, and make sure everyone knows it’s a change. Otherwise keep it static.

I understand, in general what you are saying, yet the links you're citing but you have yet to talk about mRNA. All of your links are from 1960/1970 concerning scientific politics before we established scientific fact like we have now.

I do not believe that you have reviewed my second link which takes you through how DNA goes to RNA then to protein. Yes it's mRNA, but mRNA is RNA.

The inheritable material from DNA is in the nucleotides on the inside of the double helix. Please review the Nature link to understand how DNA goes to RNA and then protein.

In my lab we did exactly what you are referring to. The thing that doesn't get headlines are the many labs where they delete genes and things go completely haywire and they have no idea why.

To again use a programming analogy, it's like when you change a variable for the height of an image and then your page doesn't load. You know you did something, but your code is so tightly coupled that it's hard to discern what's going on.

That's my point. DNA is tightly coupled, so if your boss came up to you and asked you "What is the absolute minimum lines of code we can run this business on?" Then you would feel the same way that I did when reading this article!

The concept of messenger RNA (mRNA) is the source of your confusion.

As cited by their Nobel Prize, it is DNA -> RNA -> Protein. Please do not confuse scientific facts with google searches you've done.
