It's an older card running on high/ultra quality settings in those benchmarks. I would be more interested in low/medium settings.

1080 here with 7950X3D+96GB.

It is also simple to download from the streaming services so to me things got as simple as pasting a link in the terminal to rip to no internet places like a car

The same as youtubes removal of dislikes and more recently they disabled search results with newest results first.

Now I ignore a user based on other criteria (account age post/comment karma + a 50 times compressed repost)

The world has better places to offer. The past 20 years have only reinforced my stance no need to try.

My friends experiences visiting family (before Trump) have confirmed them multiple times. Imagine visiting family as a 17 year old German and then being questioned for 11 hours because you don't know the exact street where the family lives. While the relative is waiting at the airport without any kind of information.

No idea you guys make up prices and devices when I made my choices years ago?

All I can give you is my reasoning for picking it. Not giving google my money is always a plus in my book.

My phone is a couple of years old at this point. A Pixel 7 was the newest i think. I don't care about cameras, I don't care about specs. All I need is listed.

My phone would have a screen time of a few mins per day. I can't stand doing anything on these tiny touch screens or browsing the web on a phone screen.

My xperia 10 iii was 280€(+50€ OS) vs 500€++ for a pixel.

But I hate phones. All I want is navigation, sms/call, signal, steam and firefox.

My PC runs proxmox (multiple gpus) and a remote in homeassistant triggers a shutdown and start command for the streaming VM (bazzite booting into gamescope). Instead of picking jellyfin on the firetv stick I select moonlight.

Wake on Lan is also a thing.

-> I have a steam machine since 2023.

When I can modify my desktop/theme (KDE) with css I will happily start doing it since that sounds easy.

I mean for the price I can get used thinkpads (and replace the battery if needed) and not have to deal with the crappy parts - I only have to deal with older parts.

I have spent 100$+ on multiple esp32s3 amplifiers instead with multiple software solutions ready to flash and be up and running in no time.

Now I have a wifi radio running in homeassistant. Running my own (music only) radios with azuracast. Loud enough for high quality 30+ year old 10kg 100/140 Watt speakers. Next step is making a remote for it, cheap ikea one with two buttons or a tap dial with more.
