I had the pleasure of interacting with Om a couple of times. Certain people in this world, you can tell that they are incredibly genuine, with no artifice. That was him 100%. He will be missed.

Were there any missing/worse functional capabilities that drove you over to Podman/alternatives? Or just the licensing / pricing?

The post is long but it was really written from the POV of an infrastructure owner (DevOps) and not from the POV of a service owner/developer which is actually the target for Linkerd 2.0. FWIW - the post says it takes 5 mins to install Istio. I find that very, very hard to believe.

I'm a big fan of using this type of visualization to add an extra dimension in a digestible way. Adding the third dimension is always the toughest one.

This is pretty cool. You can do something fairly similar with www.silk.co except it acts more like an online database and less like a static site. Basically, CSV to Website conversion where each page acts like a row on a DB. (Full disclosure - I work for Silk).

GET Requests are cheap But I was thinking of bandwidth costs to get things out of S3 entirely and do a complete outmigration. But the prices there have come down quite a bit since I last checked.

I'm wondering if they got nailed by out-migration charges and how much that was. I assume a bunch of their images were in S3. Amazon charges a pretty penny to take things out.

The timing of this post is impeccable. A very exhaustive new study came out showing that the value of a college degree is higher than ever.

Basically, you go to college in America or you risk being poor for the rest of the your life. Sure, some coders / entrepreneurs can do it without college. And maybe college is the selection process for these success traits. But with this size of differential on a very large sample size, I think its pretty hard to say, at least in earnings power, universities are not fulfilling the myth.

You mean something like www.silk.co? Full disclosure - I work there. It turns CSVs into a web-based CSV/DB hybrid. Row = page. Column header = key. Column content = value. Collection = Worksheet. You can link worksheets and pivot the views. Also has basic visualizations - pie, line, bar, table, grid maps.
