Any large city's PD is going to be controversial. From the experience of people close to me who work with police, the VPD are better run and have more programs like Car 33 than the RCMP in neighbouring jurisdictions.

I really struggle to believe that #32 (forced updates at inconvenient times) is (still) a real thing.
I get it, I'm a tech and Joe Normie shouldn't have to know the difference between DISM and WSUS. But even under the default settings in consumer Windows, the "Active hours" will be set to standard work hours or adjust based on your usage. So on Wednesday morning after Patch Tuesday, my PC has restarted overnight. If I defer an update or reboot, it will remind me and still only force a reboot outside of those active hours.
And Microsoft are the worst. On my Apple and Samsung devices its just a notification with the ability to defer and a notification of when the update will happen automatically. Even Microsoft Office on my work PC will have a white popup saying "close your apps to update?" and I can defer.
Things may have been worse in the past, but right now it feels a little bit like postponing an oil change too long and being shocked that the car acts funny.
It is, and I'm aware of the less charitable (perhaps more likely) readings. But much of the time it isn't difficult to know who to attribute because they are explicitly featured in podcasts about the respective article.

NY Times almost got it with Seattle! Although my weird hybrid accent was definitely something that isn't fully in line (and I also use y'all because its fun.) I loved my sociolinguistics courses in university, although definitely felt a bit self-conscious at times.
You may be onto something with the first point though: while (southeastern) Brits may chuckle at northerners calling lunch "dinner" or the southwest sounding like farmers and pirates ("ooh er! combine 'arvester!") Americans do enjoy mocking words like "fortnight" and the pronunciation of "chewsday, innit?" too. So maybe everyone just mocks everyone else and I'm reading too much into the trans-Atlantic angle. After all, the way you speak is like a constant shibboleth and that's why I default to "what's your background?" instead of "where are you from?" in very cosmopolitan places.

I moved from the UK to Canada as a pre-teen* and what I found shocking was how bothered a lot of Brits are about the fact that some people or places use different words and pronunciations. "We gave you a perfectly good language and you buggered it up!" my mother oft-repeated. You see it in shows like Top Gear and Taskmaster and especially the football vs. soccer thing with the world cup right now. The UK has so many regional dialects that I can only assume it's a national pride thing, especially as the US has eclipsed the UK in population, economy, and media.

Even if it is half an hour, that's half an hour of /no functionality/ - whether that is acceptable to you is a personal decision, but to claim it's not a functional problem is a lie.
My Sony wireless headphones have a similar issue. They cannot be used (with Bluetooth / ANC) when charging. My ReDragon USB mouse does not have that issue - it has a standard USB-C port on the front edge and I only need to charge it every few weeks, which is far less often than I charge a phone, so insertion cycles is not a concern.

Keep your eyes open for Sonic R too. Sadly a lot of the online Sonic community has been toxic to the dev for being transparent about using Claude for the majority of the disassembly. Even though he's a very talented developer with lots of credit to his name, and only took a few weeks compared to a year+ if fully manual.

I just did a quick test with a N920 on Windows (Zadig installed, WebUSB stub installed) and I get the popup from Firefox and see the N920 in the extension but WMDpro fails with "Transfer error"

By releasing personal information which a reasonable person would expect to be private? I don't know the specifics of this case (only responding to the overly vague question) but information like address, private contact info, details about their families. Anything you would not immediately expect to become public knowledge simply by writing about topic(s).

Apple even in 2017 had the money and engineering resources to update or replace their flagship computer - whether with a small update to Skylake & Polaris and/or a return to a cheesegrater design as they did in 2019.
But they chose not to. They let their flagship computer rot for over 2000 days.
