Everybody and their cross-stitching, jewelry-making mothers are raising money now. You'd think there was a bubble going on.

I can't escape the flow
No, but you won't earn the Royal Victorian Order either.
Blekko has given me great results before, and I've found gems I haven't found elsewhere, but I'm not 100 percent ninja with the slash syntax yet, which is maybe a reason why I still use Google most of the time.
I'll bookmark this handy page and try to get in the habit of using it regularly.
As I read your comment I felt a tinge of concern for you in your current situation.
It seems that you could be manipulated into working crazy hours because a "big payout" is "right around the corner", if only you do what they say and work your tail off.
Just be careful.
Yeah man, if I can't find the verb, it's outta here.
You're thinking way too much. Trying to predict what the future will be.
What relaunched said so succinctly: build and launch. Think of nothing else. Throw away your crystal ball.
Good luck
Good advice, but better advice is to stay away from GoDaddy completely.
Buffer is a really great app too, so that helps the cause immensely.
Google's invasion of privacy will only get worse, as it becomes increasingly difficult to get off their teat.
"Do no evil" will soon become a rediculously bitter irony. Just wait.
One problem with toastmasters: sometimes you have to sit through nearly two hours of agonizingly bad speeches (either in content or delivery).
I decided it's not for me.
Yes, but I could use this for Windblows.
Good on them. A little backstory would be great though.
You think you're in love with Minion Pro? Wait until you see Bell Gothic... Woo, hot mama!
The mobile version of the site is really swish. Looks great on my iPhone. Nice job.
Hmm. I like it. It has a newness to it. However, Nozbe does everything I want plus shave my back every Tuesday, so I don't think I'm going to change.
Cool app though!
You might find something in this list: http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2164037/40-SEO-Tools-of...
I've been happy with the results, and may even make this my default search engine. Heck, I could use a change.
The same magazine that name übersatanic corp Monsanto 2009's company of the year.
Nelson Mandela indulged in books: http://m.guardian.co.uk/books/2010/oct/17/nelson-mandela-con...
Porn is a plague that degrades women, trivializes intimacy and is poison for children and families. It's junk food of the worst kind for the mind.
And overly sensitive to criticism.
The way I look at it, anyone who indulges in porn isn't going to be a competitive threat to me or take my job. Why? Because they're preoccupied, lack self control and settle for fantasy over reality.
Some will defend liberty, so long as it isn't inconvenient and doesn't disrupt their lifestyle.
Otherwise, they become a good spokesperson for tyranny.
Here's what I took away from the story: there are incredibly humble people who have overcome incredible hardships and went on to help and heal others.
A lot of the "accomplishments" I read on HN like raising VC money or blogging for a year straight is weaksauce in comparison.
I had been doing web dev and marketing for years while working full time. I had a family and mortgage to support. But the time was right to go full-time consultant when I landed a client who was ambitious and had a lot of work for me.
This client also happened to be a "super-connector" who told everyone about me and how good I was, so that helped.
My advice: learn how to market and start planning now, be patient, ask God for help, and you will surely have your own business.
Google is getting the better of Facebook and us. With Gmail, Docs, Play, Plus, now Drive, and oh, search, it's hard to evade our big brother's gaze.
Seriously, what's going to hurt you more: having your Facebook profile suddenly shut down or your Google account?
Google is doing a major 1up on everyone, not just Zuckerberg.
Can we just shut up about sugar already?
Yeah, it's freaking terrible, even though I eat sugar every day of my life and I have no health issues.
Drop the agenda.
P.S. I'm not bragging that I'm superman or anything, and I'm grateful for my health. I just want to make the point that this stupid propaganda fear mongering has to stop.
I started my business after I got a full-time client (a bit of a reversal to how it's usually done). It was the right time, right opportunity.
I also, without a doubt, received God's help, so I can't claim it was all my doing.
Would I do it again? I work many more hours than I did working for the man, but yes, absolutely.
For podcasting, here's a nice overview on how to get you started: http://snapguide.com/guides/create-an-audio-podcast-on-the-c...
For Twitter, check out http://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/how-to-grow-a-twitter-fol...
In fact, keep an eye on the site Social Media Examiner. Dig through the site. I'm sure you'll agree it's a gold mine of good advice relating to using social media effectively.
I only looked at your site for a few seconds (I've got to get to bed) but I wanted to share some ideas because I want you to be successful.
Podcast... have you thought of doing a regular podcast? You could grow your traffic and ask for donations.
E-books: package up your blog as an ebook and spice it up with some premium content. Lulu is a great place to publish and sell it.
Amazon.com: you're doing affiliate stuff, right?
Twitter account: load up with followers and get a Bufferapp account so you can schedule tweets.
SEO (not PPC): Obvious I know, but it's an easy win.
If you spruce up the site / blog with a nice, free Wordpress theme like something here: http://wplift.com/30-free-premium-wordpress-themes-with-cris... you might be able to lure more advertisers. In the meantime, have a space for advertisers on the sidebar or something (but then again, what do I know).
If I have any more ideas I'll post them tomorrow.
