I use the real ellipsis fairly frequently when I'm on Linux where I have access to compose key sequence, since it's just compose key + `..`.

It is perfectly possible, and even easy, to write e[nm] dashes manually. With compose key sequences it's barely more effort than typing a normal dash/hyphen, even. (Just compose key + `-.` for en dash, and `--` for em dash.)

Absolutely not. Language should never have any merit at all on country selection.

As a Swede that prefers the English language for tech and internet stuff, sites that try to be smart about country selection based on browser language or language selection based on IP location can kindly go die in a fire. An extra hot fire if they don't even let you manually override the automatic "detection".

I think the author is spending more effort on this international banner system now than the rest of the site. I got one that seems to be tailor-made for Sweden (mentioning our furniture (IKEA)).

I pay with my phone using Google Pay at a Swedish grocery store chain and it's connected to my loyalty account there.

In Sweden there is only a single bank in the entire country that has proper SEPA instant support. Some banks still charge extra for it as well.

They don't copy cleanly if you use nonalphanumeric characters, as in nearly every language other than English.

Vipps is for Norway, not Scandinavia. Sweden uses Swish for similar functionality. I'm not sure what Denmark uses.

I much preferred DivXSweden, which is also dead now. They had some notion of quality control on that site which pretty much every other site I've tried lacks.

There definitely still exist games that have issues running on Linux, but they are few and far between now.

Are there any specific games you require Windows for? I've been pretty much fulltime on Linux at home now (still have Windows on a partition but boot into that a few times per year maybe), and play games more or less daily and have only experienced issues with Kingdom Hearts (cutscenes are broken).

Funnily enough, games sometimes run better in the "non-native" context of Proton on Linux (Elden Ring is a notable example, which had the shader compilation stutter on launch on Windows, but much less noticeable on Linux, and no issues with the anti-cheat (EasyAntiCheat) either).

The thing is that there's a lot of valuable information that I don't think we should just delete like that.

When you search about a Neovim issue for example, often the solution is in an old Reddit thread. When you delete that, it will be gone forever.
