That's true! To be honest the papers start at the _beginning_ of (modern) cryptography, and the site doesn't factor in some of the more modern research in crypto. We haven't refreshed it in a couple of years, but should include some of the new FHE and PQC standardized schemes etc.

Any thoughts on what we should add/remove?

I commented on this on another thread, but in all honesty it was intentionally skewed towards more "popular" papers as a quick reference guide. A lot of the people that use this resource are university students or cryptography first-timers, and undergrad university curricula do tend to focus more on the "famous" papers rather than the most novel/important.

That being said, if you have suggestions for papers to include we'd be happy to add them!

Many know Shannon as the author of "A Mathematical Theory of Communication" and the founder of information theory, as well as the brain behind "Communication Theory of Secrecy Systems"

Both papers derive from a technical report, "A Mathematical Theory of Cryptography"[0], written by Shannon in 1945 — 3 years before his breakthrough papers in the Bell Labs Technical Journal.

Sure! We build tooling that lets developers encrypt data before it hits their infrastructure (Relay) and which lets them process that encrypted data at a later date (Cages).

We manage keys, but we don't store data.

All crypto operations and encrypted data processing happens inside TEEs (AWS Nitro Enclaves, specifically [0]). Using Relay, you can pass data on to trusted third parties over TLS. With Cages, you can deploy custom code inside a TEE which can process data in whichever way you need.

For developers who don't want plaintext data on our infrastructure, we also provide SDKs which let them encrypt data using our PKI scheme — on their own infrastructure.
