The eggs are the exception, I think. With 250k people having opted out, and the article speaking of 'some homes in Essen'... it probably were some youths high on googlemania - a local thing. Though I suppose others may follow - copycats.

Haha, totally. I don't know - I think it's kind of sad. Rural Bavarian life is taken for life in Germany in general... it's plain wrong. I should know, because I live in Germany. I wonder why everyone keeps going back to restricting Germany to that single cliche.

I love it. It communicates that he is ‘one of us’, that ‘he cares’ about his consumers, that he values our opinions. Even if he only answers with ‘no’. He is very busy, he doesn’t have time to write long answers. Does that mean he’s better off not answering? No, people love him for dropping short emails. Well, is that intentional, some sort of marketing strategy? That's probably part of it, but not more - otherwise more CEOs would do it.

That would help. Many German universities have rudimentary English versions, which makes things easier, too. I suppose it's enough to search the university's name and "email", though. I found some email adresses of my university that way, anyway. Thanks for doing this - I (and the other students, I bet) appreciate it a lot.
