I don't think so, most of enterprise customers are US based companies. They will basically give Mythos to US citizens in R&D while others will use Opus. I hope this is not the actual intent.
Regarding the dual-citizenship, you are wrong to assume that. To US government you are US citizen and that is all that matters, even if you have 5 different citizenships government and justice system don't care, you need to follow the US laws and can't cherry pick what you want. Regarding users, for any of this big 3 (Alphabet, Anthropic, OpenAI) only important customers are enterprises, not individual users.
This sounds like a really good test for agentic coding and something Anthropic should seriously consider doing as a proof of Claude Code quality. They could easily have agents built per Linux distribution that will run on every new release and do complete testing and publishing. IF they can successfully do that it would be a nice marketing as well. :)
I uploaded lecture to Claude and asked to create skill using principles described. I guess we shall see if AI can actually follow them. :)

We did something similar +12 years ago with `streaming` AWS running app inside the browser. Basically you can run 3d studio max on chromebook. App is actually running on AWS instance and it just sending jpegs to browser to `stream` it. We did a lot of QoS logic and other stuff but it was actually working pretty nice. Adobe used it for some time to allow user to run Photoshop in the browser. Good old days..
That is really wrong way of looking at things. USB 4 support doesn't require ANY innovation from Apple, any extra $$$ (maybe pennies) - it's pure representation that they lost focus and simply don't care. That port is CRITICAL for many things they actually focused on in the prerecorded ads we all watched today - video. All add-ons, storage are in 99% of cases directly connected to the phone via USB-C port. To not support the latest technology available but charge premium is really disappointing...
This is becoming comical. iPhone Air only supports USB 2 speeds. Seriously? Also iPhone Pro only comes with USB 3 speeds while amplifying ProRes RAW support...
I am not really convinced that rate is higher without AI tooling. CVEs existed before AI tools with only humans generating code...
I got M1 Max with 64GB and 32 core GPU fro $1500 refurbished with zero cycle battery on 100%. As most companies doing refresh/write-off after 3 years 2025 is really a year where you can get a beast of machine for the money. I also have M4 Max for work and differences are only on really heavy tasks but for 3X less money I guess M1 Max is still good deal. This delay also means that M2/M3 ones will be good buy next year as well.

Great work! I love commitment to make it at no cost as @liamwire mentioned. Still not sure why on Earth car manufacturers would not just release APIs open to all owners (basically issue API key based on VIN) and let them use it. For developers to build apps that will only require API key to be entered would be win/win for everyone....
Backup/restore is one common usecase. It's painfully slow with current speed. AFAIK only Pro model support USB3 speeds. Someone more knowledgable can maybe explain if there is any technical/cost reason behind it (I honestly don't see one ).

It's not really convincing what you're saying as Apple have much more money/technology/people then literally any professional hearing aid manufacturer. Just combine total market cap and revenue and it will be in single digits compared to Apple (Oticon parent company Demant is just ~2 billion - Oticon probably way less than that). I would like to see spec sheet of mild hearing loss hearing aid of any of the manufacturers that are charging 10 times more than Apple and see how that hardware is different from what Apple have in AirPods Pro 2. Is there any exact sample you want to share? I really want to see actual spec sheet and see type of hardware they are using as it's complete mystery...
You are underestimating number of people working on them and data that is flowing into Apple from all the people using them for years.
Not really. This is the first time Apple is betting on something that will not be available in huge portion of the market they are selling iPhone. This never happened before and Apple never directly connected almost all features of the hardware launch with geographically limited area. AI is the only reason why someone should upgrade from iPhone 14 and lower and yet it's only going to work in limited part of the world (China and EU are not going to have AI).

It's really bad even for Apple. I really expected something more than a button and riding the wave of AI introduced months ago. We can see that technologically (mostly in hardware part) Apple is slowing down and can't innovate at the speed it was before. They still had a chance to add new stuff but for some reason skipped it - Wifi 7, support for JPEG XL, more base memory/RAM... Profit margins are going down and they really struggle to make it high as before. The fact that AI will not be available in most of the markets Apple is getting money from is really concerning and will probably hurt in the long term. The best part of this event is that AI actually pushed Apple to make really significant upgrade on base models.
Slight off-topic but I still can't believe Apple engineers are not able to fix stupid green dot flare when shooting with direct sunlight in the frame... Super easy to fix computationally but for some reason still there for years...
Hope there is someone inside current DPreview web team who is going to put complete site (codebase, db, storage) on torrent... That would be really nice (run DPreview locally in docker). :)
Other way to look at it is that you look at Figma as a product and OpenAI as a platform. What you will do with the platform is up to you. It's not easy to productize something like that and get good revenue - it's much riskier BUT if you already have many products in your portfolio (like MSFT) it's actually really good fit as you may enhance your existing product line...
I honestly think that what you are describing is just a part of transition and that data will stop being interesting anymore but actual algorithms and way the data is consumed. Similar thing happened with the books centuries ago. Not everyone had access to the books and only wealthy and church had control under it, knowledge was not accessible like it's today, yet that didn't change anything once it become accessible, what matters almost always is what you do with it.
I was always wondering if we would progress faster in many ML/AI stuff if big companies exchanged data they collected (raw data). Take self driving stuff for example, dozens of companies spending tons of resources just to collect the data (that is btw public - streets, other vehicles, publicly exposed objects, people...). Imagine if they all exchanged raw data, we would be years faster in development and they would actually focus on things that matter (actual ML/AI models)...
