I thought this sort of thing was pretty much impossible due to latency issues.
Appreciate the intent, but that contrast is really not good. I wonder what the liability issues would be for assigning random colors to prescriptions. What if two different prescriptions end up having similar colors and go to the same patient?
The gifs are annoying when one is trying to focus on the text and sees movement out of their peripheral vision.
Funny you should mention the web clipper, as I've been uninstalling it from all my browsers. It kept on inserting half-rendered HTML into random webpages I would visit.

Since we're complaining about Medium: the font is too big. We may be in the post Web 2.0 era where huge text is more of a norm, but I feel assaulted every time I load a Medium article. The text is not readable without physically changing one's position, or adjusting the browser font size.
And why should I have to fiddle with the font size for one site when I don't have to think about it elsewhere? Are Medium bloggers so arrogant as to think that their revelations deserve to be shouted in my face at 22px?

Sure, we could replace winners and losers with some term like "A players" and "B players." But even judging past success has its flaws; I feel that society as a whole tends to put success, or "winning", on a pedestal. How many great minds have we benefited from who had significant flaws in their time, or went unrecognized?
People are probably a lot more complicated than we think. We try to sort them out into categories as best we can, but we should remember that our understanding of another person's value is limited at best. Calling out people as "losers" because they don't fit your purpose is immature.
This whole trend of categorizing people as "winners" or "losers" seems distasteful. What is winning? Favorable circumstances in the present?

Interesting UI - needs better topic discovery, maybe track popular/active/trending topics. Realtime search feed is cool but prone to griefing. Maybe hide scrollbars when not in use?
In reference to OP, it's a matter of thoughtfulness. A Facebook birthday notification happens whether you're thinking of a person or not. At least, if you put it on your calendar, you had to sacrifice some time and energy.
Not to say that you're less thoughtful for using Facebook reminders; it just seems to promote shallow interactions at times.
You were pro-active and took steps to remember the birthdays by sticking them on your calendar. It's different from clicking on a link because Facebook remembered someone's birthday.
