I think in these extraordinary times, it’s nice to see the government proactively trying to do more to counteract the worst pandemic the country has ever seen. As much as we might all cry foul over the curtailing of freedom, there is a lot to be said in this current environment about contact tracers immediately knowing who a known covid carrier has come in contact with, which in turn means a speedier response from the medical teams.

That being said though, the app is absolute garbage on iPhone. Obviously not really their fault, but needing to have the app actively on for it to work is absolutely going to lead to people not bothering to turning it on.

The tooling around upgrading has definitely gotten a lot better, though if you’re carrying around a relatively older codebase there’s a potentially thorny deprecation coming up in the future

Ah, my bad, I must have completely missed it. As a personal data point, I usually like to see how much a service can potentially cost me before signing up. Have you given some thought about maybe floating the price somewhere on the front page?

Yeah, I'd second this advice. Hiring a professional trainer also does wonders for forcing you into the habit of going to the gym because they're not cheap. Personally, I did kinda balk at how much they charged, but if you think about it as an investment into future you then it doesn't really sound so bad. Plus you only really need enough sessions to get a feel of the kind of routine you'll want to be doing, which to me was about 10 sessions.

I also pretty much just follow the PHUL workout[0] these days because I'm way too lazy to switch up my routine. Been at it for a good year now and I've definitely noticed an improvement.

Oh yeah, also, the thing I noticed about consistently going to the gym is that after two to three weeks, _not_ going to the gym becomes the more undesirable option. Like you just feel terrible if you ever miss a gym day.

As per TFA, they did say that the only data they had on hand were from the trains that broke down, so it would have been impossible to even detect the "rogue train" from a simple analysis of the data they had. Though it also said SMRT was slowly extracting the train logs from the incidents so I'm sure they would have gone with that if their preliminary analysis yielded nothing.

Seems a little harsh to label it as absolutely useless. How is it any different from learning to play the piano to play your favorite piano pieces? Or am I misunderstanding what you mean by produce?
