Many parts of Rubocop have creatively named robocop references and names. Robocop itself is satire. I think actual tools and software used by police departments should be causing more offense.

I thought blacklist was related to 'black out' meaning to censor something by blacking it out. I don't know, it's a cool word, words with colors in the names feel richer. Banlist/allowlist is simpler I guess, which is still nice.

I try to block all the web fonts I encounter. A lot of UI symbols aren't rendered which amusingly sometimes results in overlapping text descriptions. I just can't stand looking at certain fonts or ligatures and refuse to let a website decide how it renders text.

Also make it a law for buildings in urban environments to have white roofs. Heat islanding is a very real problem and just painting stuff white seems to help.

I also resold earbuds/earplugs online for a years to get $1000-1500/mo. Seemed like a viable side project only taking up an hour or so every night to prepare packages, and then an extra 20 minutes to swing by the post office each morning.

Like others said, it's always a good idea to reduce your spending and try to save. You can even use that savings to occasionally fund projects without feeling too bad if something fails.

It seems kind of disappointing to remove these additions. It's interesting by itself what all was added and thinking for what reason. At least the previous versions will always exist online for anyone curious, and it is neat to make comparisons before/after restoration.

That sounds smart. They use tons of water anyway in the desert to keep solar panels clean. I'm not sure if it's captured but using it for agriculture would be nice. Maybe the process of greening the environment could even reduce how much sand gets blown around, so even less water would be needed for cleaning.

Seemed like there was more resources and info for Unity a few years ago. This was an interesting update about Unreal Engine.

I'm not sure. Calling it just 'reuploading' is also kind of insulting because it seems a lot of these people spend serious time editing together clips and highlights to create something fresh from what could have originally been an 8 hour long stream.

People do this for movies, tv episodes, news drama, creating interesting clips without much issue and I don't see a big difference.
