Slack Is Down 3 years ago

I'm curious if somebody from Slack could comment how much the acquisition changed Slack technologies.

I have first hand info from Avast - Norton merger and turning into corporation which doesn't value good RE talents was ridiculous and I've worked in corporate before, but this was just another level.

Middle management and up, their technical knowledge ended at turning PC on, hehe.

Btw they forced everybody even devs/RE guys into switching from Slack to Teams.

But still I have respect for original owners who build this AV company from 0. Too bad over the years it turned into this BS, where gathering and selling people's data is a normal thing for them.

At least there are guys from ESET, which is where people really care about fighting malware.

People, don't forget to properly set all these checks for DNS failover.

I saw companies got scammed, because they used default settings in Exchange Online.

And attacker just made the DNS "unavailable" for brief moment and all phishing emails passed. Because MS server responded with DNS "temp error" and pass all emails as not a spam. (detailed: received-spf: TempError (protection.outlook.com: error in processing during lookup of <phished domain>: DNS Timeout) and DKIM is checked on domain of sender's SMTP server, in this case attacker's server used for phishing )

Then I had the great experience with MS IT/security support, people there can't even understand how emails works, very funny and sad experience. I hope outsourcing works for them.

I wasn't sure how this brick is called in US https://cdn.hornbach.cz/data/shop/D04/001/780/491/166/959/DV...

Or this Ytong https://as1.ftcdn.net/v2/jpg/01/99/70/94/1000_F_199709412_vW...

Because these are most common materials used for building houses, (in CZ).

And wanted to distinguish I don't mean classic house made of classic bricks. Because if American see a brick house, they think this, right? https://st.hzcdn.com/simgs/afd1745b0164c256_14-6933/home-des... And this type of house is very rare here. Maybe you can't even build it here, because of bad heat insulation etc.

What are you talking about? What country in EU ? Because for example here in CZ, there's a lot of firearms. But guess what, you must pay for a gun license and have a doctor examination with possibility of psych. evaluation, then a gun license exam is really hard also practice test of gun handling and shooting is pretty hard and not cheap.

So you will think twice to get it and you really don't want to loose it. Basically turning gun owners into the most law abiding citizens there is.

If you're talking about countries like UK or similar, where you can't legally defend against attackers and biggest cities are controlled by gangs with kitchen knives and acid bottles. Even police don't have guns and can't arrest them, cuz racism or something. GG EZ.

For my amusement, I presume you're from US or UK. How much do you usually pay for a house project?

For comparison, I've paid around $2000 for whole family house project, it's not just plans but also heat-loss computation, heating systems plans etc.

Country CZ (EU). It's two story house made of "bricks", with gas+wood+heat pump heating systems. I would say pretty classical here. For ~$270k, not counting the property.

Also soon there is starting another round of EU subsidies in range of $50k paid upfront for houses with solar panels, green roof etc.
