Because wasps don't live in large colonies. Thus losing one wasp would be more damaging than the risk of infection.

A 30 year old reactor is hardly an old one.
You can use them for 50-70 years

I don't think people's proglem with PHP are the semicolons and $ variable declarations.
It's mostly legacy stuff like built in function naming.
