The entire administration is. It's the most overtly wasteful and fraudulent admin of my lifetime anyway(so going back to Reagan).

They disgraced the People's House. Gilded it so the POTUS could feel like a king/emperor/tzar.

Destroyed the East Wing to build a ball room. Initially said it would be privately funded (which is itself a hugely corrupt act having individuals and corporations directly fund hundreds of millions to a vanity project for the POTUS). But then tried to raid the public coffers for it to the tune of over a billion dollars.

Accepted a plane from Qatar and spent millions rebuilding it. Now saying they are going to donate it to the Trump library(aka steal from the public).

All the contracts going to family and friends? The overt pay-to-play politics?

Yeah, of course DOGE was BS.

USAID helps a lot of people in ways that aren't just feeding.

A lot of the assistance and programs provided help children in ways they are particularly vulnerable to. As a cliched example children are disproportionately vulnerable to malaria. They account for something like 75% of malaria related deaths.

The reason this situation more closely matches the posters analogy and not your unserious reply; The children USAID helped 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years ago are adults now and have been helped in ways that don't require ongoing "70 years" support.

Children and parents may have been able to rely on programs funded by USAID. However by abruptly shuttering it (ie "kicking them in the face")critical, life saving services were not afforded the opportunity to fight for their continuation through political advocacy or finding alternate funding sources. We were committing to helping in ways others could have helped if we had not. Then we suddenly stopped helping.

Yeah, you want to identify and maintain service levels when reducing force. Or establish new service levels.

This takes research, coordination, and planning. But the administration fired the people who could have helped with that too.

A lot of the RFCs are flavored by the lack of https and prevalence of forward proxies run by the ISPs to improve perceived speed and reduce their network loads.. Back in the day.

By my estimation, that's why they explicitly call out only the client and origin can know what a GET body means; proxies should forward as-is and ignore.

Those days of ISP forward http proxies are gone, but those semantics are still fine; the body means what the origin and client agree it means.

Body is already optional with GET. Proxies aren't supposed to touch it or assign meaning to it; it's between the client and the end server.

A whole new method whose semantics don't really fit with the others is.. An odd way forward.

To buy a PS5 Pro is going to require re-buying all of your games for it

Why would I re-buy all the games I own?! The vast majority of people one-and-done games and movies. There are a handful they go back to, and that's it.

CHILDREN replay games cycling through them ad-infimum because their entire concept of time is like 3x less than we've been waiting for the next GTA.

And they don't have money! Adults are the majority of the market now.

Any other behavior from adults, who are seriously time constrained, is niche. And that's fine if someone wants to spend their adult time on earth replaying games, but let's be honest. It's niche.

It's way, way better than it was 15 years ago. Amazon and Amazon AU, Costco, etc. TradeMe for the cheaper stuff you don't want to wait for shipping from China.

But yeah the selection and availability is nowhere near the USA or even say.. Indonesia.

Stop Using JWTs 1 month ago

Yeah, hasn't it been "best practice" for a decade or more to treat JWT like a ticket and swap it for a cookie-based session ID in anything browser-like? Then you just do all the cookie session "best practices" to lock it down.

Nothing is a fantastic alternative. Graphite is an incredible amount of "extra" for a team that just communicates and knows how to use git..

with no second thoughts whatsoever

As someone responsible for mitigating card testing "attacks", account harvesting, and DDOS attacks..

It is unfortunate, but the ISP industries(from telco up to transit) and CC industries aren't providing a lot of great options. This idea that people are doing things "without a second thought" is usually false when it comes to businesses.
